Great place to have a nice dinner and desert. had the chicken burger and steak, both were very nice. For desert had death by chocolate and Baileys Crem Brulee. These were well presented and tasted great too.

Hope Island Tavern has become one of our favourite go-to spots on the northern end of the Gold Coast. The vibe is super relaxed and it’s got that nice mix of being casual but still really well put together. Whether you're just popping in for a quick lunch, meeting up with friends for drinks or bringing the family along for a chilled-out dinner, this place ticks all the boxes. The food is solid every time. We’ve tried a bunch of things from the menu and everything’s been consistently good. The steaks are juicy and cooked just how you ask, the wood-fired pizzas (even vegan!) have that perfect crispy base and even the simple stuff like garlic bread hits the spot. They’ve got a great selection of meals for kids too and if you’re there on a Sunday, they’ve usually got free kids’ entertainment which is a huge win if you’ve got little ones. One of the best parts is the big outdoor beer garden - it’s perfect for sunny afternoons with a cold drink in hand. There's also a decent playground so the kids can run around while the adults unwind. Service is friendly and laid-back, exactly how it should be in a local spot like this. All up, Hope Island Tavern just feels easy. Good food, great drinks, relaxed atmosphere and genuinely nice staff. Whether you’re local or just cruising through the area, definitely worth stopping in. You’ll probably end up staying longer than planned. [Follow my adventures on instagram crushinglimits]

Visited Saturday lunch time. Playground to keep the kids busy. There was also kids entertainment from 1PM. Meals were yummy and served really quickly. Staff very friendly.

We had a fantastic celebration for our sons birthday! The food was delicious and good portion sizes, the atmosphere was fantastic and the kids loved the playground. The service was superb throughout, restaurant manager Cindy made us feel so welcome and looked after. She was attentive, helpful and went above and beyond! We would certainly recommend the venue and look forward to coming back in future.

Visited with a group of 10 for a family outing and overall it was a decent experience — with a few things to be aware of before you go. The atmosphere is genuinely lovely. There are heaps of different seating options and we chose to sit outside near the playground, which had a really nice ambiance. The playground was a big hit with the kids, and there was even a face painter on the day which absolutely made my daughter's afternoon. Fantastic touch for families. Unfortunately the food didn't quite match the setting. Wait times were on the longer side, which is understandable for a big group, but the quality was pretty average across the board. The kids' fish was particularly disappointing — my daughter took one bite and didn't want any more, which says it all really. Staff were friendly and clearly doing their best, though they were stretched thin on the day. Great spot if you're after a fun outing with kids and don't mind keeping expectations around the food modest. With a bit of improvement in the kitchen, this place could really shine.
