We stayed in 2 of the bigger houses as we had a large group. We were pretty disappointed with a few things during our stay, particularly given how much we paid for our accomodation. Be warned - the houses do NOT have any access to wifi - this is abysmal in today’s modern world - digital TV’s on the wall but no access to internet other than hot spotting off your own phone! The houses were extremely dirty - under the beds were covered in sand and dust and grime. Cockroaches throughout the kitchen of a night time and cockroaches crawling through the bathrooms each night! We stayed 5 nights but only were given 4 dishwasher sachets - similarly only 4 laundry sachets - despite having full houses (18 people total across the houses we hired). We were approached at the door on one of the days of our stays and told we had to be quiet because there was a wedding on, while we agreed to keep our noise down, we did feel that this was absolutely rude - whilst we appreciate a wedding was on, why should our proper use of our balcony that we paid good money to use be encumbered? It would’ve been different if staff said “hey we have a wedding, complimentary drinks down at the bar for 30 minutes at X time” - the rudeness is the blatant expectation that because the resort are being paid by the wedding party to have their wedding that that automatically means other guests have to be quiet? We were quiet during the half an hour window they initially said, but then we got a follow up phone call telling us to turn our music off (which we weren’t even playing - it was our kids enjoying THEIR holiday and playing with each other - we paid for our houses and we paid to be there - it was extremely inappropriate to tell us we can’t enjoy our holiday in our view). The spa at the pool is luke warm and was unsuitable - and the bottom main pool had an extremely strong chlorine smell too. The arcade is dated and half the tokens didn’t even work on the machines - waste of money - don’t bother. The pool table is extremely decrepit - nothing is maintained and it’s just all plonked there without any consideration to making the games area fun and enjoyable. We probably wouldn’t stay here again to be honest (unless the facilities and amenities were improved).

The principle of how the resort is laid nout is amazing, like going back to nature. Staff were all amazing, helpful and friendly. Special mention to Sam, Summer and Dave D who took us on a magical tour of the Island and what Dave didn't know wasn't worth knowing, he is like an Encyclopedia. The rooms were a bit tired, but we didn't want to be in there anyways. The Dune Asian restaurant is worth a visit, fantastic choices and all reasonably priced. If you are coming to Queensland, you have to come here.

We had an amazing stay here! My husband and I spent three nights on the island, and it turned out to be the perfect little getaway. We always dedicate at least one full day just to enjoy the hotel itself — we’re true hotel lovers! Although the property is not brand new, everything is very well maintained. Our room was tidy and clean, and we felt comfortable throughout our stay. One of our favorite spots was definitely the balcony. We enjoyed relaxing there with some drinks while taking in the quiet peaceful view — such a peaceful moment together. The resort offers multiple restaurants and bars, spacious grounds, and lovely pools where you can truly unwind. And don’t forget to visit the Sunset Bar — the sunset there is absolutely stunning and not to be missed! Another highlight was the thoughtful service. From the convenient luggage transfer from the mainland check-in to our room, to the attentive and kind support from the staff, everything made our stay seamless. Special thanks to Stefanus for his warm hospitality. We would absolutely love to return to this island and stay here again in the future.

This was our third time staying at Kingfisher Bay Resort, and over the last few years we’ve stayed in different types of accommodation — rooms and two different villa styles — and have always found them great: comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The staff are consistently lovely, the facilities are fantastic, and there’s always so much on offer. We love the restaurants, the Sunset Bar, the tennis courts, the pool, and the evening light show — it’s always such a wonderful experience overall. Unfortunately, our final night this trip didn’t end on quite the same high note due to our experience at the Dune Restaurant. Our server wasn’t particularly attentive or engaged. To start, when we tried to order a beer on tap, we were told simply that we “could not get a beer on tap.” This struck us as odd, as we’ve dined here before and always been able to, and we could even see other guests with pints they’d brought from the Rainforest Bar. When I checked directly with the bar, I was told the tap was working fine and that the waiter was likely operating off old information of an earlier ‘issue’. However, at no point did the waiter mention there was an issue with the tap — had that been explained, or had he checked with the bar himself, we would have completely understood. Unfortunately, there was no clarification or follow-up, (I had to check with the bar myself, and find out we could in fact, get a beer on tap) and he didn’t return to check on us or take any further drink orders throughout the meal. Another disappointment was that I ordered the prawn sui mai but was served pork instead. This wasn’t realised when the food was brought out and I only realised after eating some — quite an unpleasant surprise as I’ve been vegetarian for over five years. It was an unfortunate final dining experience after an otherwise faultless stay. Despite this, we still absolutely love Kingfisher Bay Resort and will no doubt return again in the future — everything else was, as always, wonderful.

Our trip to the island was absolutely amazing. When you arrive to the island you can’t even see the resort even though it’s right there. It’s so well integrated in the landscape. Staff were attentive and friendly. The resort has 3 pools and lots of food options. Our loft apartment was very well equipped and was very large. It’s getting older now with a few items that could do with replacing, but it really didn’t worry us too much. The island food and fuel is expensive, but that is to be expected. Dinner and drinks for our family of 4 (no dessert) was $170. Coffee was $8.00 Points of interest were easy to get to from this central location. The resort had a gorgeous boardwalk that we used daily. All in all our trip was fabulous and we can’t wait to come again
