Stayed for two nights at Kingfisher Bay Resort and absolutely loved every moment! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, special shoutout to Stefanus for going above and beyond to show us around the resort. There are plenty of dining and drink spots to choose from, but the Sunset Bar stole my heart with its stunning views and relaxed vibe. Watching the Illumina Light Show was such a magical experience and definitely a highlight of the trip. Can’t wait to come back!

This was our third time staying at Kingfisher Bay Resort, and over the last few years we’ve stayed in different types of accommodation — rooms and two different villa styles — and have always found them great: comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The staff are consistently lovely, the facilities are fantastic, and there’s always so much on offer. We love the restaurants, the Sunset Bar, the tennis courts, the pool, and the evening light show — it’s always such a wonderful experience overall. Unfortunately, our final night this trip didn’t end on quite the same high note due to our experience at the Dune Restaurant. Our server wasn’t particularly attentive or engaged. To start, when we tried to order a beer on tap, we were told simply that we “could not get a beer on tap.” This struck us as odd, as we’ve dined here before and always been able to, and we could even see other guests with pints they’d brought from the Rainforest Bar. When I checked directly with the bar, I was told the tap was working fine and that the waiter was likely operating off old information of an earlier ‘issue’. However, at no point did the waiter mention there was an issue with the tap — had that been explained, or had he checked with the bar himself, we would have completely understood. Unfortunately, there was no clarification or follow-up, (I had to check with the bar myself, and find out we could in fact, get a beer on tap) and he didn’t return to check on us or take any further drink orders throughout the meal. Another disappointment was that I ordered the prawn sui mai but was served pork instead. This wasn’t realised when the food was brought out and I only realised after eating some — quite an unpleasant surprise as I’ve been vegetarian for over five years. It was an unfortunate final dining experience after an otherwise faultless stay. Despite this, we still absolutely love Kingfisher Bay Resort and will no doubt return again in the future — everything else was, as always, wonderful.

I recently stayed at Kingfisher Bay Resort and had a wonderful experience overall. Although I had some issues with the hot water, the staff were very helpful throughout my stay. A special thank you to Stefanus, who was incredibly friendly, attentive and made my trip even better. The breakfast was delicious and definitely a highlight of the stay. Beautiful location, relaxing atmosphere — highly recommended!

The resort generally is nice a little dated but nice . Our biggest issue was the terrible food! Sand bar bistro last year was fantastic. This year terrible. We got a few mains and entrees. I love pizza and can eat any pizza! There pizza was so doughy and rubbery it was terrible!!! After 2 slices I gave up. I had the taste stuck in my throat for 2 days. I was sick for 2 days ( I’m not saying it’s from the food) After 2 days of not eating my stomach was fragile. I see at the main restraunt they have a soup of the day , I thought perfect! What is it ? Spicy Thai soup ! FFS last thing I wanted. Menus were average. Dune last year was terrible and this time around again below average. Every dish we got is soy sauce to death . These restraunts come up with all these exotic flavours that DONT WORK IMO. Maybe just maybe? Pay some GOOD professional chefs to run the kitchens and back off with the back packers. Anyway our kingfisher days are done.

Very overpriced for outdated rooms, mediocre food and poor service. Room was very outdated with uncomfortable mattresses, a damp feeling to the room and an old and poorly functioning bathroom (low water pressure in sink, damaged and small bathtub/shower with shower-curtain). The bathtub also was not cleaned properly (at all?) as had hairs in the bottom of it. Note for anyone with any accessibility needs - it is an extremely long walk to many of the rooms. If you have your bags delivered to your room via porter from the mainland reception be warned - your bags will be left unattended in your room with the door wide open! Anyone could have walked in and grabbed anything?! Made zero sense. Food options were limited and expensive for very average food. Coffee was good but higher prices than you pay in the capital cities? I found a lot of the staff quite rude and abrasive - first at the mainland reception I was spoken to quite abruptly, then the staff at lunch at the sand and wood were really rude to one of our guests about a mistake on the restaurants end. The location is obviously beautiful and the highlight of the resort - however at this price point, there are much better accommodation options in other beach or island locations.
