Definitely somewhere you should visit at least once. We stayed over night on the Friday. So had heaps of fun exploring when the park was closed. Saturday morning we ate at Abbey Tavern. Affordable, delicious and the staff were lovely. The rest of the day was spent exploring and being entertained. We loved the Tournament. And I bought a few keepsakes for the kids. Some beautiful things are expensive. But other beautiful things are $10. My daughter loved her fairy gift bag from the lolly shop. You will not regret visiting. If you can stay over night even better

Kryal Castle is visually impressive from the outside and the castle buildings themselves are beautiful. The architecture and interiors are probably the highlight of the entire experience and are worth seeing at least once. Unfortunately, much of the shopping experience feels MORE THAN. Many of the stores sell mass-produced items that don’t feel particularly medieval, unique, or authentic. The exceptions were the blacksmith (AMAZING!) and the witchcraft/herbal store (AMAZING!), both of which offered genuinely handcrafted items and were run by passionate people. Those were the only shops where I felt the prices reflected the craftsmanship. Food options were also VERY underwhelming. Most offerings consisted of standard fast food, sweets, and brightly coloured sugary treats. Prices were high for what was available, so I’d strongly recommend bringing your own food if possible. If you are a normal income family with 2-3 kids, bring your food. It's simply not worth it over there. The jousting tournaments and entertainment may be exciting for younger children, particularly those under about five or six years old, but older children and adults may find the activities somewhat limited after the initial novelty wears off. Quite boring and cheap looking. While the castle itself is stunning, the surrounding grounds are fairly ordinary and there isn’t a huge amount to explore once you’ve seen the main buildings. For families, this can quickly become a VERY expensive day out, especially when the main activities are finished (in under an hour) and you’re left browsing shops and purchasing food. It's really not what the site is promising. My advice would be to visit later in the afternoon when crowds are smaller, queues are shorter, and you can enjoy the castle without spending as much time waiting for activities such as face painting. Overall, Kryal Castle is worth visiting for its beautiful buildings and atmosphere, but be prepared for a fairly expensive day and set your expectations accordingly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed in the King Spa Room and absolutely loved the experience. The room was comfortable and made the whole medieval stay feel immersive from the moment we arrived. The grounds were fantastic, with plenty of activities happening throughout the day. The knights and jousting displays were exciting, and seeing so many people in full costume really brought the castle to life. Reception set the tone straight away. The staff member who checked us in clearly loved her job and it showed in her energy and friendliness. The standout for us was the Potions Class. The character work was incredible and completely stole the show. It was entertaining, engaging, and one of those experiences you genuinely remember. Kryal Castle is a must-visit. Fun, immersive, and something a bit different from the usual getaway.

Definitely an enjoyable day out. Nowhere near as polished as Sovereign Hill, but it's still a pretty cool facility and has a lot to offer. Really only requires half a day. It is just a bit of a shame it is in need of a lot of TLC. Worth a visit if you're a tourist in town.

Whilst planning our holiday jn Ballarat for 5 nights, we were told about Kryal Castle. We were told that it was a little cheesy, but the kids would love it. I like medieval history so we decided to stay an extra night in Ballarat just to go to Kyral Castle as it’s only open on weekends. $124 for a family of 4. The outside is very impressive as it looked like an authentic castle. The inside foyer was small and underwhelming……. It was very windy and cold. There needed to be a wind block at the entrance so you could look at the dragon and statues. I read somewhere that the dragon was mechanical…… there was nothing mechanical about this dragon. When we went through we did the maze, the tower and the torture chamber. They were good to look at and theme was spot on but it looked so run down and dirty. The throne room chairs were old and dirty, the walls of the tower looked structurally weak. I would imagine they didn’t have council approval for that top story. The outside court yard area had a lot of potential for more. More stalls, food trucks, more medieval workshops or displays. There was a black smith selling tools….. he should be forging tools and putting on a display. There were lots of people in costumes…… more fantasy medieval rather than authentic medieval. I would have liked to see more making/ baking/ old people teaching young people how to do things. Pony rides could have been done around the square. The archery room was a joke. The food/ bar area behind the arena should have been more. More themed decor as it was a run down shed. There were lots of people standing outside watching the tournaments but no one was drinking beer or eating. You could buy two beers on tap but it was not well advertised. The food was pies/ pasties/ sausage rolls. So much potential but just not enough money and effort was put into it. The gift shops were somewhat empty or Mitch’s dose that were so expensive. My daughter likes this medieval bodice top, it was $420. We walked out. I saw 1 person in a wheel chair. There were no a lot of accessible rooms/ things to do. There were steps and uneven surfaces everywhere and I walked down a ramp and tripped over a hose that was out to water the grass. Would I go back or tell other people to go….. No way. Save your $142. We were there for 2 hours.
