Beautiful room, comfortable bed, view over course lovely for golf enthusiasts. Enjoyed our stay...Torquay has soooo changed over the years. No longer the sole domain of the surfer. Golf course restaurant serves very acceptable meals...our waitress was a trick...as we were seated near a young family 🤪 Would stay there again.

The Sands at Torquay is set in such a beautiful, posh coastal neighbourhood. We had a lovely stay! The staff were absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond. They upgraded our room and surprised us with a beautiful bar of chocolate and a birthday card — such a thoughtful touch. We even spotted a few hares around the grounds which was so charming.

My daughter organised a surprise weekend for me at the Sands Torquay. The place is 5-star in every sense. The rooms were amazing, the food divine, the service outstanding. We reported a fault with the TV at about 6.30am and when we returned after dinner the TV was working - they could not fix it so they replaced with a TV from another room - no fuss just shear efficiency. Well done to all.

If you’re thinking of staying at the sands this is your sign to book it!! My parents stayed here and had the most wonderful time. The staff went above and beyond, offering early check and had a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates in the room for a birthday. A really beautiful hotel, Thank you very much :)

We went here on a luxury escapes trip. Room was upgraded for us but unfortunately for us we had a family banging things around on top of us disturb a quiet stay. Room was clean. Breakfast was thrown in for a two night stay. First day Monday we had the eggs and bacon, the bacon was OFF reported to the supervisor. Pizza that night was good. Second night I had the carbanara which was small in size and contained few ingredients. The menu there lacks variety and is boring and tired. The staff tried their best in a struggling venue. We will not be recommending this place to our friends.

Spike is a suitable space for any event for groups of up to 100 delegates that has natural light with views overlooking the golf course and has access to a lounge/cocktail area with open fireplace and an outdoor terrace and balcony for fresh air. We cater in this space for tea breaks, pre dinner drinks, gala events, trade displays and exhibitions.
