Our most exclusive space is an industrial style space for events where dancing is a necessity. The exposed brick and bronze walls create a warehouse vibe divided into two areas - a lounge and a dancefloor - for the best of both worlds. Private bathrooms and a smoking area included!
The Burdekin's Mini Bar & Band Room
Mini Bar is a chic aesthetic, with concrete floors and exposed brick walls. It is an ideal band space, with a raised stage for performances & DJs. It offers bar stool seating, modern painted walls, and a neon-lit private bar on one side.
The Burdekin's Lava Lounge / Cocktail Bar
The Lava Lounge is the Burdekin's stylish top-floor lounge bar. It features a large lounge section set under a stunning, hand-crafted Italian chandelier. Partitioned from the lounge space by an art-lined passageway, is a dedicated dance space rolled out on parquetry flooring and sat under an array of illuminated disco balls. With high views over Sydney's iconic Oxford Street, this space is perfect for birthdays, corporate functions and everything in between.

The Burdekin Ground floor is one of our most adaptable spaces, perfect for cocktail style events (Christmas parties, EOFY events, large celebrations). With a capacity of 280 guests, there's room to have performers, a DJ, images/videos on our massive 6m2 LED screen. It comes fully equipped with lighting, along with a VOID accoustics sound system. Microphone/AV also available for use
The Burdekin Rooftop
The Burdekin Rooftop, located on Level 4 of the iconic Burdekin Hotel, is a relaxed & comfortable rooftop featuring panaoramic 270 degree views of Darlinghurst, Oxford St, and Hyde Park. Heaters are mounted throughout to keep you warm during the colder months, along with winter specials such as Mulled Wine. During Summer we offer twists of some of the popular classics like Mojitos. It is the perfect destination for a wide-range of parties, functions & gatherings.
Underground / The Basement
Previously known as The Dug Out, the basement's dim lighting and vintage decor hum with stories remembered and forgotten. The private bar sits nestled in between antique fixtures, leather lounges, and wooden panelling transports patrons to a new era, offering an intimate escape from the ordinary. The atmosphere is a blend of old-world charm and modern luxury, creating a perfect haven for those seeking an exclsuive, memorable experience.

Thank you so much for all your help in getting us into the Lava Lounge for our Nickelodeon 30 Year Reunion!!! The Lava Lounge holds so many great memories for so many of us. :) The event was EPIC and the venue was exactly where we needed to be. The air-conditioning, on such a hot and humid day, did struggle a bit, especially with so many chattering bodies in the room. Your staff were excellent and it all went beyond expectations. Burdekin was great. The men in the dresses were very good at all they did. However, my main contemplation is how I can live in this isolated shag pad across the road. How do we get there there?

Hands down THE BEST place to host your event! I booked The Lava Lounge for my 50th birthday celebrations & the service was flawless! Functions Manager, Erin was fantastic from initial engagement right up until the event - fast response time, great communication & quick to offer suggestions to ensure that I had a memorable experience. On the night, Manager on duty, Dani greeted me on arrival & was attentive throughout the night. The barstaff were great - polite, happy & engaging with my guests. The security team were attentive with assisting my disabled friend in & out of the lift. On the night my friend lost her bracelet & the team found it & contacted me to arrange collection. I honestly had such a great night & so did all of my guests. I highly recommend the Burdekin as fantastic event space. THANK YOU!!!
