I recently stayed here and had a largely positive experience, though there are a few things to keep in mind regarding the rooms. The Room & Comfort The rooms are a bit on the tiny side. One important thing to note is that the A/C shuts off when you leave the room. If you spend the entire afternoon out exploring, the room can be quite warm when you return. Breakfast & Dining The breakfast spread was a highlight! There were plenty of options to choose, from continental breakfast, to asian options like Wonton Soup. And everything I tried was genuinely tasty. Location The location is hard to beat. You are steps away from the Central Station and Chinatown; 10-minute walk to Darling Harbour; and plenty of good food and drink options nearyby. Staff & Service The staff are truly the heart of this hotel—they are incredibly friendly and helpful. I want to give a special shout-out to the on-duty manager, Lieony Sari. I initially checked into a room where the A/C wasn't cooling properly. When I brought this to her attention, she went above and beyond. Not only did she move me to a different room, but she also upgraded me to a larger room, which made my stay much more comfortable.

A very cute hotel, it was our first time in a Caption and we really liked it. I think they're competing with Marriott's Moxy or Aloft but they are better than those, in my opinion. Great air con, very comfortable beds and pillows with lovely bed linens. Very good wifi/internet. All of the staff were friendly and professional. Housekeeping was excellent! Loved the water stations and carafe for filling and the little fridge in the room was great to have. We had breakfast and lunch in the restaurant and both were very good. The coffee there and in the lobby cafe was great. The location is great, in a buzzy area but on a quiet street and super well connected to public transport. Strongly recommend a stay here!

Stayed at this hotel for 9 nights last month. Relatively new hotel in Haymarket next to Chinatown Sydney. Very clean, boutique style hotel. Only had 1 restaurant but offered every delicious food you could ever want. Small hotel, so you would need to do most of the luggage handling yourself. Staffs generally very friendly and helpfull. Highly recommended.

I stayed at Caption Hotel Sydney for honeymoon for three nights during their grand opening promotion, and it was an amazing experience. Since the hotel has just opened, everything was brand new, clean, and beautifully maintained. What impressed me the most was the exceptional service from the staff. The front desk team who assisted me with both check-in and check-out were extremely professional, friendly, and made sure my stay was as comfortable as possible. Despite being located in the heart of the city, the hotel was surprisingly quiet, allowing me to enjoy a very restful and peaceful sleep. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sydney.

more like a 4.5 star. really enjoyed my stay! loved: the price, the location. the cleanliness and design of the rooms. cute and compact bathroom, great shower. super comfortable mattress. friendly staff. being able to customise the lighting (high/low/off) and the precise temperature control in the rooms is epic. you can even control the lights from the bedside table. the unit where you can put your luggage near the front door is great. was able to check in 2 hours early which was lovely! ok: fridge but no microwave. somewhat standard, but you won't be able to heat restaurant leftovers etc. can hear doors being slammed from the corridor but that's fine and it's still muffled, the walls room to room are totally soundproofed. the pillows (down?) are a bit squishy but i still slept fine. the speech bubble quotes in the room are a bit corny but it didn't affect anything about my stay it's just an interesting design choice. the tv is a dumb tv, has like 10 channels and you can't cast anything or access streaming, but i don't really watch tv on holiday anyways. the bedside lamps are a bit useless, good for locating the bed but not for reading. the toiletries aren't the best, my hair got oily faster than normal after using the shampoo. the tap in the bathroom sink is so intense, use a little force and you get a tiny stream, then if you push it any more it just goes to maximum stream. kind of difficult to get a regular water pressure. my view was just of the alley. didn't love: there was a fire alarm apparently, but i couldn't hear it, just tried to leave and the lifts weren't working. i tried to open the fire exit and it was locked. shoved and slammed my weight onto it. i rang reception and no one was there. eventually walked around to the opposite end of the floor and used that fire exit.
