This market is a mix of wet market, souvenir shops and local food stalls at the ground level. On the 2nd level and 3rd level of above the market, it was a shopping mall. The shopping mall opens daily and for the market, it opens from Wednesday to Sunday. Generally, this place is well received with the tourist on the souvenir area, whereas you can see the locals visit the wet market area. And in general, the prices of the souvenir seemed to be a bit less expensive as compared to the nearby shops & stores outside the Hay market.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received today at Fish Chippery. At approximately 11:50 am on 10 July 2026, I asked the female cashier what fish was available today. Before she could answer, the cook with the moustache interrupted and began raising his voice at me, saying there was “only one type of fish.” However, there were clearly three different types of fish on display. I have been a regular customer since the shop opened last year and have always asked what the catch of the day is. It’s a perfectly reasonable question. Just because the store was busy or the staff member was feeling frustrated does not give him the right to take it out on a customer. I was genuinely shocked and embarrassed by the way I was spoken to in front of other customers. After this experience, I won’t be returning. I also have some constructive feedback. If you want to make ordering more efficient and avoid customers having to ask, please clearly label each type of fish on display. That would eliminate any confusion and improve the customer experience. To the Hay Street Market management, I hope this incident is addressed so that other customers are not treated the same way.

Great food market with a big variety of cuisines. There is a small Stage where live acts entertain the diners. It is in the same building as Paddy’s Markets so very convenient after you’ve had a shop to grab a drink or bite.

Bloody brilliant. Foodie Haven't! Will need to do a couple of rounds here as in visit more than once to enjoy all the stalls. Round 1 .. big shout out to Pizzarina , Luke Luk , Paolo's, K- Pocha , Burger Box , Finas Deli , Thomas Hay Bakery , La chacuturia , Hay st Roasters and Dolci co... Round two ... we aim to finish the rest of the stalls.

If you’re looking for a solid spot to hang out, the cheese table at Hay Street Market is such a vibe. Chef Angie put together an incredible grazing board for us—everything on there was top-tier and paired perfectly with some seriously great wines. What really made the afternoon, though, was the service. Chef Angie was so welcoming and gave my friends and me some amazing PR, making the whole experience feel personal and super relaxed. Definitely a 10/10 afternoon if you're into good food and even better company.
