This is a pretty standard Hilton, with all the usual facilities. I think when it was built 50 years ago, it would have been a fantastic hotel. Since then other high rise buildings have been built around it so the views are not very good. Still, its ideally located, especially if you use the metro to get in from the airport, as its 2 minutes’ walk from Town Hall station. The facilities are excellent. It shares a gym and spa with a local gym so has really good facilities. There is also onsite parking. The executive lounge is nice and has a good breakfast and canapés in the evening, so you only need to get lunch. We stayed here a few times on the trip and used it as our home base. We were able to leave luggage here between trips, which meant we could do things like Uluru using hand luggage. The rooms are also nice, clean and up to the usual Hilton standard. It’s a convenient, quiet hotel. I would recommend staying here unless you particularly want views over the bay.

Not a 5-star hotel by any means We spent over $2,000 for a two-night stay at the Hilton and from the moment we arrived it was obvious this was not a 5-star experience. We pulled into valet parking and began walking into the lobby, only to be told to get our own luggage out of the car. My wife had to lift her heavy suitcase herself while three valet staff stood by and watched. We then had to carry our own bags to the room. What hotel is this? I genuinely thought we were staying at the Hilton. We upgraded to an Executive Suite, which turned out to be nothing more than a shoebox with zero luxury. The minibar was completely empty — not even a bottle of cold water. The toilet paper was worse quality than a public restroom. The bathrobes were thin and cheap, and the towels were hard and scratchy. The TV only had free-to-air channels that constantly cut in and out, with no ability to stream anything. Amenities were basically non-existent — a flimsy shower cap was about it. I’ve had better facilities at a drive-up motel. We’ve stayed at many Hiltons around the world, and this was by far the most poorly run and the most expensive. On the first night, exhausted, we ordered room service. It was terrible. Everything tasted and smelled like fish, despite ordering a chicken burger. There was no salt in the salt shaker. The meal was so bad I couldn’t eat it, and my wife took one bite of hers and pushed it away. To top it off, the room next door had room service delivered, and when we returned at the end of the second day, the dirty tray was still sitting outside their door. The buffet breakfast was also very underwhelming we were tempted to skip altogether on the second morning. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxury stay. You are far better off staying at literally any other hotel.

We’ve been to the Hilton Bar with friends, and every visit has been a great experience thanks to Fabio. His cocktail recommendations are always spot on, and every drink is crafted perfectly. What truly makes the difference, though, is his personality he is incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming, which makes you feel instantly comfortable. Fabio is not only an excellent bartender with real skill and knowledge, but also a wonderful person who brings great energy to the bar. We always leave happy and look forward to coming back.

Stayed at Hilton Sydney 14 - 17 Nov 2025, booked two executive rooms on a third party platform, then contacted Hilton directly requesting adjoining rooms. On the day of check-in, as soon as we stepped out of our uber, one of the staff was helping with our luggage, and showed us the way to reception. We arrived before noon, the concierge was able to store our bags, and the front desk staff offered us access to executive lounge straight away, which is much appreciated! After we had lunch, one of our rooms was ready, and our bags have already been delivered to that room, very efficient. The other room was ready by 3pm. My request of adjoining rooms were met with inter- connecting rooms, pleasantly surprised. The rooms are clean and have great views. Everything worked well, we were able to request extra blankets via the phone app. They also provided a shower chair for my elderly parents, which was greatly appreciated. The staff at the executive lounge was very professional and courteous. Always with a smile. Hilton Sydney is in the prime central location, across the road from QVB, next to Galleries, and Westfield is just around the corner. We were able to get supplies from the supermarket 200 metres from the hotel. The daily cleaning of the room can be a bit more thorough. Will stay again.

I had a wonderful stay at the Hilton Sydney. The hotel is very high-end and exceptionally well located — you can reach everything on foot, including the ferry terminals for trips to the zoo or other attractions. The staff at the Hilton were consistently friendly and professional. A special thank-you to James in the Executive Lounge for his outstanding service. It truly made a difference during our stay. There are, however, a few downsides. The elevator waiting times are extremely long — I’ve rarely wasted more time waiting for lifts in any hotel. I understand the property is large, but the situation is quite frustrating. Additionally, the breakfast area is often very loud, and depending on the time of day, you may have to wait quite a while for a table. Considering that the Executive Lounge on the 1st floor offers nearly the same selection, it became a much more pleasant and relaxed alternative for us. Overall, still a great stay and highly recommended — but be prepared for the elevators and the busy breakfast atmosphere.
