The location is definitely a highlight—super convenient with plenty of things nearby. The room size was good and everything was clean and well maintained. I was a bit concerned after reading reviews about thin walls, but honestly it was fine during my stay. You can hear some noise from the hallway, but that’s pretty unavoidable in most hotels. Breakfast wasn’t really worth it in my opinion. It’s not terrible, just quite average—tried it once and that was enough. The good thing is there are heaps of great breakfast spots around, so you’re better off exploring outside. Overall, a comfortable stay mainly thanks to the location.

The hotel itself was central to where we needed to be, a great car park station which we were able to use ( large car) with no issues. Lovely cafe In the lobby with the most delicious almond croissant and coffees. Very quiet stayed in room 406. Downside as we had our daughter the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. Not a very thorough clean with dirty socks left on the floor from previous guests and just a line in the centre of the TV. Again the TV wasn’t a huge deal, but thought I would mention. However, the staff were lovely and very accommodating upon check in and check out.

Room is very good, en-suite bathroom is spacious, big couch. The gym and swimming pool are quite basic though. Location is superb, hotel is near light rail, trains, shopping malls and lots of restaurants. Nearby places are very walk-able as it's right beside Darling square. Unlike some other hotels this one has a wide entrance for cars to pick you up so it's handy.

Nice modern room, but no parking on site and closest carpark is torturous to access from hotel. I pre-booked and paid for what I believed was onsite parking, but staff said there was none available. So what is the use of pre booking?? Audrey at reception just smiled and didn't help at all and no apology. Rose at the bar was very nice

Booked in Sept 2025 for a stay in Mar 2026. When I reconfirmed a week before my stay I was very pleased that my request for an Accessible room and a Parking space at the hotel had been assured. Having a husband in a wheelchair and travelling with a fair bit of assistive equipment I was pleased that upon check-in staff volunteered to take bags and equipment direct to the room. Asking to have dinner booked at the Pumphouse was done promptly. The next morning upon requesting for a later check-out time they initially attempted to charge me for that, even though I'm a Gold Accor member and this should be complimentary which I stressed to them. They had to look this up before agreeing that I was correct. When I went to check-out I requested assistance with bags and was informed that they don't do that. I had to inform staff that I was travelling with a Disabled Person and equipment and they had assisted me unprompted the day before. In the end they offered a cart but I insisted as I had to assist my husband I would require a staff member to collect our stuff on the cart and deliver it to our car. They stood by whilst I loaded everything and my husband into the car. This experience differed strongly from the helpfulness shown by staff on check-in. It strongly differed from my experiences at another Accor Hotel which we use frequently too, which is the Pullman Sydney Penrith. I suggest that some staff at Novotel Darling Square could look at the superior customer service practices at the Pullman where they are friendly and go out of their way to help and make you feel at home. I would stay here again but it is disappointing to find oneself having to argue over various points and educate staff on Accor Gold membership entitlements. Staff on arrival were lovely but the next morning staff really let the team down.
