Reviews for Rydges Parramatta

Good hotel. I have given 4 stars but 3.5 for the rooms which need refreshing and refurbishment. The hotel is well located but now charges for parking like others in the area. This is a shame as there are ample spots for all guests. $20 daily is not as high as others but included parking is a lot better than offering "free" $25 daily food credits that most guests will not take up or cannot each day. Good value but perhaps we will try another hotel in the area the next time.

All of the staff were truly awesome—very warm, welcoming, and attentive. We really felt looked after. However, the hotel itself was disappointing. There were large cockroaches in the lobby, and our room was extremely warm. We even had to borrow an extra fan just to be able to sleep. We booked two nights for our anniversary, and we don’t have much extra money for things like this. We actually saved up for a while just to afford a nice celebration, so it really hurts that the experience turned out this way. We even ended up going home after the first night because the room was too uncomfortable to stay in. The pool area was also slippery, so please be extra careful. And during the buffet breakfast, we noticed a fly on the breads and pastries, which was quite off-putting. Overall, what was supposed to be a special anniversary stay turned into a bit of a disaster for us. It’s a good thing the employees were all very kind, but unfortunately they couldn’t really fix the issues we experienced.

Unfortunately, my recent stay was extremely disappointing. I booked a premium studio room from 31st December 2025 to 4th January and paid AUD 1,820, but I had to leave early on the morning of 3rd January due to poor hygiene and unsatisfactory services. As you can see in the attached pictures, I noticed cockroaches on the carpet, which I saw in the same spot for two consecutive days. The cleanliness standard was far below expectations. I eventually took photos because the issue was not resolved. I specifically requested a spa/bathing tub and paid extra for this upgraded room. However, the tub was very dirty, with hair inside. Even after cleaning it twice myself, the water appeared yellowish, and there were black particles floating in it, as clearly visible in the pictures. Because of this, I did not feel comfortable using the tub at all. Another surprising issue was that basic amenities like a toothbrush and toothpaste were not available. I requested them multiple times at reception and was told they were out of stock, which was unexpected for a large hotel, especially during peak end-of-year season. Despite booking one of the most expensive rooms, there was no microwave or oven available to heat food. While the room itself was spacious, these missing facilities made the stay inconvenient. I would suggest this place only for short stays or solo/business travelers. I would not recommend it for families, as the experience could be quite uncomfortable and disappointing. I am sharing this feedback respectfully and without any intention to offend. Small things like cleanliness, hygiene, and basic amenities greatly impact guest experience. I genuinely hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously and improves their services for future guests.

Stayed here for the weekend. First time checking in the room was really big and spacious and i genuinely loved it! Great view as well. Had a few rude staff at the Resturant, we felt very uncomfortable when we come back on Saturday questioning why we were there, I said it’s a hotel and we are staying here lol! Felt that was very random and very rude! Then Sunday morning I found a cockroach in our room? 🤮 I paid $1000 for the weekend and would not recommend staying there personally. First night was amazing and was like this is so good even though there was a few bad reviews. Then the last day or so just really showed how it is.. I shouldn’t have to pay $500 per night for a cockroach and questioned why we entered the hotel! Very odd

Stayed here for one night due to having an event on nearby and was extremely disappointed. I’ve stayed with Rydges before but unfortunately the Parramatta one has made me not want to stay at Rydges again. The aircon didn’t work despite asking the staff to fix it. The room stayed hot all night which was a complete let down. The bed was comfy but the room is very outdated as well as the inside of the hotel itself. Staff were friendly but nothing over the top. My partner paid for an upgrade for the room but definitely not worth the money. Buffet breakfast was pretty terrible and no chefs present to cook omelettes or eggs. Absolutely insane that this place is rated a 4 star hotel, should be a 2 at most.
