After our walk a group of us went to this pub for lunch at around 11:30am. The hotel is on Glebe Point Road, Glebe and is easy to find. It's quite large with a big bar. There are plenty of dining areas inside and a lovely dining area outside. As it was only Tuesday we had no problem finding tables and getting comfortable. We chose inside because it was air conditioned! It was boiling hot outside. The staff were lovely and helpful. We placed our orders quickly and they arrived at our tables not long after. A friend and I had chicken schnitzel. It was quite disappointing and a bit tough to eat. Someone else had problem with the potato salad. All quite edible but not up to the standard we expect at Sydney pubs. Because of its location and atmosphere we would probably go back but maybe try another dish.
Theres nothing like a Tocky burger! We used to live in Glebe back in the 90’s and the Toxteth was our local. We came back today for a nostalgia memory trip and it didn’t disappoint. The burger was as good if not better than we remembered. Beatiful char on the meat and the special sauce. Yum. Thanks for still being the Tocky we remember.
Our family had the bottomless brunch for my son's 18th birthday. The food was amazing and lots of it and the drinks did not stop flowing. We had amazing staff looking after us, particularly a German lady and Noah the barman who were very attentive and helpful. The value for money was exceptional and I would highly recommend this venue for the bottomless brunch. It made my son's 18th very special. Also the view is excellent.
I don't know about you, but for $28 l reckon a parmy should be bit bigger than what l got here. Tried to get a young blonde Celtic skinned barwoman's attention with an "Excuse me" as she walked by. "Sorry" she said as she kept walking (albeit with plates). As l was sitting directly in front of the bar l could see she either ignored me or has no memory (they were not busy) as she was there the rest of the evening. So l asked a very bottle blonde guy who had just started athe pub and he agreed it didnt look big and said he'd be interested to know too from the kitchen if that was the normal size. Yep. Never got back, though he kept walking by, studiously ignoring me also. Really, it's not hard. I wasn't being painful, l really just wanted to know as l don't eat parmys much outside my suburb and reckon $28 seemed a bit steep.. Whatever. Won't come again.
This used to be our local when we lived in Glebe so we love the place. The food is decent and it's got a nice courtyard. But imagine my shock when I ordered the grilled scallop starter for $24 and it had a whopping 3 tiny scallops. Ok, to be fair, I didn't expect gigantic scallops but 3 for $24? Ouch. They were tasty but not $8 a piece tasty.
