Situated on the the city fringe, The Vanguard is a live music and entertainment venue that has been operating for over 20 Years. Primarily trading as a live music and burlesque venue, The Vanguard is here to cater to all of your event needs. Recently renovated with a world class audio visual system, that features a d&b audiotechnik PA, 7K Lumen Epson projector and 30+ programmable lighting fixtures, as well as a brand new Parisian inspired look, The Vanguard will delight every sense imaginable. The venue features a versatile two and a half story layout, with the ground floor consisting of the bar, stage, and entertainment area, a mezzanine with a view of the stage and lounge area, and top floor consisting of bathrooms, offices, greenrooms and full kitchen. Be it a dinner or lunch party, birthday celebration or corporate party/conference, The Vanguard can cater for any and all event needs.
Minimum spending requirements to hire the venue exclusively vary by day of the week and are as follows:
- Monday & Tuesday: $4,500
- Wednesday: $5,000
- Thursday: $8,000
- Friday: $10,000
- Saturday: $12,000
- Sunday: $8,000
These amounts are all-inclusive, covering catering, food and beverage, production, and staffing costs.

The place is retro and very well maintained, has great acoustics, the seats are super comfortable, and the atmosphere is lovely. My only criticism is regarding the menu (I would add more options) and expand the cocktail selection.

We saw impro band Manfredo’s Lament, & Alexander Flood & Erica Tucceri & they were amazing! brilliant! Nicely renovated venue, but happy hour doesn’t include cocktails and the cocktails were terrible, $88 bucks for 4 very crappy cocktails. Forget about ‘signature cocktails’ the bar staff was clueless.

Brilliant venue showing a wide variety of awesome acts. I don't come here often (enough) but I love it when I do. I can't recommend it highly enough. The location, vibe, people, food, drinks and of course the acts, are fantastic. Great value too.

We had an amazing evening at The Vanguard. The food and service by Bush was outstanding - the polenta so fine and tasty, the wild boar lasagne, chickpeas and saltbush spliffs flavoursome and perfectly cooked and the wattleseed flan divine. Jeff Lang and band topped off the night - incredible performers. We'll follow the food to Bush in Redfern #Bushredfern #Bush #Bushrestaurant
