Great place to stay. Our room on the left wasn't ideal for views as we looked over traffic and could hear the trains/ traffic. Recommend requesting a room other end to have best views. Our second time staying here and last room was better for view of bridge etc. Rooms are very clean and comfortable beds. Breakfast is also great. Would stay again but would request a room with better view and not over traffic side.
Fantastic views and a very pleasant stay. View Hotel Sydney was a very pleasant stay for a business trip and great value. The hotel has fantastic views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, including my Bridge view room. Short walk (or morning run) down to Lavender Bay and if you want down to Luna Park and the Bridge. Excellent location next to my clients in North Sydney business district and many dining options. Train station is only 100 metres away, so easy access via public transport around Sydney. Dinner and Breakfast were very tasty and excellent value. Staff were pleasant and helpful with extra requests and general service. Looked like they enjoy working there, which is always a good sign. There is a train subway directly underneath the station, so train rumbles through the building. I actually found that a distinctive part of the experience, not a hindrance or distraction. Fun to think about all that great engineering. It's a very pleasant hotel overall and you cannot beat that view, especially for the very reasonable price! Would be happy to stay there again.
The hotel is in a fantastic location with stunning views of the Harbour Bridge and easy access to public transport and food options. Rooms are clean and comfortable beds. Modern Samsung smart TV with Apple TV. Great breakfast at reasonable price. Gym is small but contains high end equipment. Restaurant staff and house keeping staff were nice. However some reception staff were unfriendly. They claimed that we had consumed a kitkat and called us after 10pm asking us to pay for it. We were shocked by this as one of us work for Nestle and we have access to different flavours of kitkat and didn't need to consume hotel's kitkat. It was utterly disappointing being treated this way after spending $1,395 for two rooms and two nights for the 4 of us.
We recently stayed at the View North Sydney to celebrate a 70th birthday. Three rooms were booked between 4 guests, and as my partner and I had a small pet we were put on the 2nd floor, whilst the others were on the 11th floor or above. We were terribly disappointed with the unacceptable and continuous loud noise and constant vibration from the trains that pass under or near the hotel. We asked if we could be moved to a higher floor, but that wasn’t possible. We had 2 nights of little to no sleep, and a very uncomfortable stay. The staff were excellent, and tried to help by giving us ear plugs, but they didn’t reduce the problem at all. We looked at leaving on the first day, but our arrangements with our friends and organised dinner at the hotel would be adversely impacted. I’d like to say that the staff were professional, considerate and supportive, and the celebratory dinner at the restaurant was particularly good… So it’s very sad that the accommodation and atmosphere of the room was so poor. If we were made aware of the obvious and known discomfort of the rooms, I wouldn’t have booked, or at least made other arrangements for the pet. I was prepared to pay more for a ‘quieter’ room, but no give at all. So $1,000+ dollars for 2 nights of poor sleep and minimal rest was the outcome. I didn’t expect any compensation, but some amicable and mutual compromise could have been achieved. On another note, the shower facility over the bath has only a weakly fixed glass screen and no other rail or ‘safety’ fix if someone slips. The 2 stars I’ve given is a star each day for the staff, as they deserved a commendation - but otherwise a very disappointing stay.
A typical good hotel experience. Nothing super fancy, just the normal expectation for a hotel, but they do it very well. The room clean and tidy, and had all the essentials. The staff were very lovely, ran into a few, and all of them were very polite and helpful. Best of all, you can in fact view the harbour bridge from the View. It seems (at least from our floor), that all the rooms are built so they will be able to see the bridge, no matter which room you have. As a note though, the underground train line does start right under this building, and therefore you can hear and feel a slight shudder as the train passes underneath, nothing bothering though. It's not really something that they can 'improve' upon though so I didn't see a need to include it in the star ratings, just as a general note.
