Plan a Business Event in Sydney With Up To $90,000 of Government Funding

The Kickstart 2021 Sydney Business Events Fund is offering up to $90,000 of matched funding to put toward event costs in Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong. Applications are open until 5pm on 31 May 2021.

Who is eligible?

Any business event organiser hosting an event in Greater Sydney, Newcastle or Wollongong is eligible to apply. Events may have between 50-900 attendees. It must be an in-person event and businesses are required to match any funding they receive dollar-for-dollar.

How can you use the funding?

Funding is designed to offset the venue costs and boost the local events industry. It may be put towards the costs of venue hire, in-house catering or in-house AV equipment. Events must be hosted between now and 31 December 2021.

How much funding is available?

The NSW Government is offering:

  • $50 per person for a one-day business event (to a maximum of $45,000)
  • $100 per person for a two-day business event (to a maximum of $90,000)

Any event must be a minimum of one full-day (6 hours).
