Tell us a favourite event memory…

I have a lot of fantastic event memories but if I had to choose one, it would be during my first year of studying. In a team of 6 we had to create a fundraising event from scratch within 8 weeks. We chose to hold a cocktail party to raise funds for The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute. The team was able to raise just over $4,800. It goes to show the power of fundraising, but also how quickly a team can work together to produce a successful event!

What events are you planning next?

At VenueNow, I am helping many people in NSW and QLD find the best venue for their social events, like birthday parties and weddings. It’s amazing to see so many great events happening.

Personally, my next event is my 25^th birthday party. It’s coming up in July and I’m very excited to celebrate with my family, friends and the help of VenueNow. I’ve found so many beautiful venues through work that I didn’t even think about hosting an event at.

What’s one thing that every great event or venue needs?

I definitely feel that every event needs a checklist to make sure nothing is missed on the day. Everyone should be aware of where to find it and tick it off as the event runs through. Also, a drinks station with coffee or soft drink in reach to help with the pre-event brain fuzzies!

What excites you about working with VenueNow? 

I am super thrilled to be a part of the VenueNow team. I am excited to grow with the business and see where we both are not only in a year’s time, but also within the next five years. Stay tuned big things are coming!

Finally, what’s your top event planning tip?

With the help of Instagram and Pinterest get the creative juices flowing for what you want out of your event. Throw out all the inspiration and ideas you have so it can all come together in some way, shape or form. Be sure to communicate this vision with your event and venue specialists to help bring it to life.
