Great place to visit. It is located inside the Australian National University campus. A fair presentation of styles and decades of Australian movies. Admission is free. Very imformative.

Just watched a cult classic, Natural Born Killers. So good, haven't watched it in ages. This is Wayne Gale, coming to you live... 😀. Loving the NFSA putting these movies on. It's the bomb. It's a beautiful little cinema. It was warm, seats are comfy. Staff are amazing and friendly, the surrounds are gorgeous. Plus, I had the absolute pleasure of watching the live intro and sizzling performance by Venus Mantrap. I can't wait to watch the next cult classic. The Crow!! I love you Mickey. I love you Mallory!!

We visited this place which is in a nice historical building. There are a few free exhibits, a free cinema which has short historical films, cafe and a paid exhibition section. There isn't much to see in the free sections but the cinema was nice.

A wonderful place to visit, the NFSA hosts fabulous exhibitions from among its wealth of items and archives. The staff are marvellous - everyone is friendly and welcoming to all, and they know SO much about Australian history and culture that they are willing to share with visitors. We saw the ‘Australians in Film’ exhibition which was just sensational. It included film clips, props, costumes, soundtrack elements, and interactive displays. Everything was beautifully curated, with both written and audiovisual explanations provided. The building is incredibly beautiful, being an outstanding example of Art Deco architecture and design. The courtyard garden is lovely and the cafe makes i n c r e d I b l e coffee that I’m sure is brewed from magic beans.

Visited today and was disappointed by how little is actually there. I remember from a previous visit years ago, there were many exhibitions of old and vintage Australian movies, tv shows, classic adverts and there was a store where you could buy Australiana paraphernalia. The building itself is exquisite and the staff really friendly and helpful but apart from a few old radio station posters and a small museum with a limited amount of goods, there really isn’t much to see. I hope in the future it may be restored to its previous glory.
