Despite many visits to Canberra, this was our first visit here. Wonderful nostalgic display in the "library", which is well mounted and with excellent touch screen details. Some interesting docos. screening in the theatre room, wonderful art deco building and well worth allowing an hour or so to visit and see the place. No major exhibition at the time of our visit but I am told they do have some great exhibitions there too,

Wonderful Art Deco building with a good cafe. A great place to relax in the peaceful courtyard spaces. Intriguing displays... all for free

If you visit Canberra you can skip this place, I was here about 4 years ago, The reception was pretty rude when I accidentally called this place a museum. They had a Heath ledger exhibit in the back at the time. I feel like this place is a huge wasted opportunity to educate the public on Australia's film history.

Great place to visit with friends and family. It's basically located inside Australia National University campus. Majority of the sections are free to visit except for special movie screenings that require a ticket. Place is quite nice and well maintained. Public washrooms are available. Also, there is a small coffee shop for visitors.

A wonderful place to visit, the NFSA hosts fabulous exhibitions from among its wealth of items and archives. The staff are marvellous - everyone is friendly and welcoming to all, and they know SO much about Australian history and culture that they are willing to share with visitors. We saw the ‘Australians in Film’ exhibition which was just sensational. It included film clips, props, costumes, soundtrack elements, and interactive displays. Everything was beautifully curated, with both written and audiovisual explanations provided. The building is incredibly beautiful, being an outstanding example of Art Deco architecture and design. The courtyard garden is lovely and the cafe makes i n c r e d I b l e coffee that I’m sure is brewed from magic beans.
