Despite many visits to Canberra, this was our first visit here. Wonderful nostalgic display in the "library", which is well mounted and with excellent touch screen details. Some interesting docos. screening in the theatre room, wonderful art deco building and well worth allowing an hour or so to visit and see the place. No major exhibition at the time of our visit but I am told they do have some great exhibitions there too,

If you visit Canberra you can skip this place, I was here about 4 years ago, The reception was pretty rude when I accidentally called this place a museum. They had a Heath ledger exhibit in the back at the time. I feel like this place is a huge wasted opportunity to educate the public on Australia's film history.

We went to watch the audiovisual work of Australian widlife 'Temple' on Sat 29 Jun. The work was very professionally done .. awesome, inspiring, mesmerising. A wonderful work by two great Australian artists.

They have a very fascinating permanent exhibition space, and a very nice cafe. I live just looking at the building itself and the wonderfully preserved decorative features, particularly the Australian native animals. They regularly show classic movies in the theatre, which is an experience itself to just visit. I loved the unfortunately recently ended temporary exhibition "Temple", very sad to see it go but can't wait to see what is next. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend signing up for their e-newsletter and social media and go to some events.

We visited this place which is in a nice historical building. There are a few free exhibits, a free cinema which has short historical films, cafe and a paid exhibition section. There isn't much to see in the free sections but the cinema was nice.
