Fantastically charming, old hotel in Canberra quite close to Parliament. The bed was the most comfortable I had slept on during my entire Australian vacation. The staff were affable and helpful where they could be. Note: If you're looking for a post box to mail a letter, you will find one out the front door, to the right about a block. I was impressed by the tidy room, with an iron and board, products, mini fridge, and actual glassware for tea. The hallways can look a little like they're from the Shining with the lights turned low, and there's no on site restaurant, but they have an agreement with Ostani in the Hotel Realm just a block away. One thing I ding them on is a lack of a lift. Many stairs to get to my room. I did not ask nor really look for a lift, but also did not see one nor a sign. If you've got a lot of luggage or mobility issues this may not be the place for you. It's a lovely place to stay, nestled in a neighborhood it is away from the street and general noise.

This place is in a great location and staff are lovely. The problem is that it’s an old structure that’s been refurbished, so it looks a bit more modern but in many ways it’s not - you can hear the plumbing pipes from the rooms around you, and they are VERY loud. Some even sound like a squealing noise. We were woken up multiple times. Lucky we only stayed one night.

Absolutely loved the Brassey Hotel ! A week later and I am still thinking about the bed and pillows ! The most comfortable bed ever - actually a little nicer than the 4 seasons ! It would be great if there was a bar on the property but there is a wonderful one with good food only 100 meters away. Will go back 100% and recommend it to all. The Chairman and Yip restaurant is also only 100 meters walk it was an amazing place for dinner recommended if you stay at the Brassey !

A really lovely historic hotel. Not the flashiest or glossiest establishment loaded with charm. Staff were lovely

Perfect location for a Canberra adventure. Close to the national gallery and the Megalo print studio. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, peaceful during. Walkable to main attractions. Just lovely.
