Lovely old hotel with beautiful grounds. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. A minor issue with the soap dispenser in the shower. It was virtually impossible to get any soap out. Although staff did look into to the issue. It would be great if the hotel could add a bike rack outside ( they are about the only location in Canberra that doesn't have one) and a room for storing bikes inside.

Third stay at the Brassey hotel. They certainly fixed the problems we had on a previous stay. Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, lovely staff and a nice big room. It's always so nice and quiet here yet cafes, restaurants and the foreshore are in walking distance. We hired bikes for a day which were, surprisingly, in perfect repair. We stayed 4 nights and the only thing we missed was some plates and cutlery which we ended up buying at an op shop, we didn't want to go out for dinner and breakfast every day. We will definitely be back again!

This hotel is amazing! Beautiful gardens, and lovely rooms, and they were very accomadating to my assistance dog. Centrally located to shops, and major attractions are 10 minutes drive away. I always stay here when I come to Canberra. The staff are fantastic too!

Really lovely Staff, but definitely not with its reputation. Room was TINY, TV Remote wouldn't work, very FEW basics (you get more in an $80 a night Motel!) Bathroom door and skirting paintwork disgraceful for a Hotel of this ‘supposed’ calibre. It rained every day I was there so never got to see the gardens. For a “Supposed Quality Hotel” there is not even a BASIC Dining Room, or food service. I had to drive to another suburb in the rain to get something to eat. The Hotel has a very small area which SELLS chips and Kit Kats as well a very small selection of snacks, but no ‘meal’ things. A Hotel with The Brassey’s Reputation and Heritage should be doing what The Hyatt (a much better choice if you want something a bit special) and offer Afternoon Tea etc. very inadequate, (and this was embarrassing: NO Toilet Brush!!) Definitely WOULDN'T recommend. (Only real plus: the bed was clean & Comfortable.) You would get as good a stay if you would have been in an $80 a night Motel, 5 minutes away in Queanbeyan!!! Sorry Brassey, but 3 1/2 Stars only. Very disappointed.

Comfortable hotel, nothing exquisite of course. Would have been 5 stars if I didn’t receive so many text messages asking for reviews, feedback etc when I gave them my number during the check in process.
