As an IHG member, I was very disappointed in this hotel. The rooms have an awkward layout and are missing key amenities such as a bottle opener to open the beers stocked in the minibar. The bathroom was in need of renovation at least 10 years ago, with a shower over the bath and a general, grotty appearance. Only for necessity did I use the non slip mat provided. The shower curtain had also seen better days. For two consecutive days, my room was not serviced, in spite of hanging the card on the door and turning on the service light. The restaurant left much to be desired. Buffet lunch was seriously lacking in options and quantity available for diners. Breakfast was OK, although I consider the bacon and sausages inedible. The bar opens late and closes very early, forcing you to go to the casino should you wish to enjoy a quiet drink. Service from staff varied, with a lovely lady greeting me in the dining room for breakfast, whilst many others appeared disinterested and there were also some language barrier issues. I will not be returning; at least until the rooms receive well overdue renovations.

Location was the best thing about this hotel, busy hotel with a great breakfast buffet. Breakfast buffet is gluten-free friendly and foods are labelled which is nice with a separate gluten-free station and toaster. The rooms are very dated, however clean for what they are, cracked tiles in the bathroom. Barely existent water pressure and mould on bottom of the shower curtain. Service upon check-in from office manager was fantastic. However the service in the hotel was substandard at best- took over 25 minutes to get a coffee on the first morning, and even then we had to leave and never ended up getting it. On the second morning, it took 20 minutes to get a coffee and a further 15 to get a hot chocolate. Excessively slow . No concierge available at all to help with bags upon either check-in or check out. No one checked the booking notes either - (my daughter and husband have severe feather/down allergies and I’d requested and phoned the week prior to confirm that bedding without feathers would be used- they reassured me it would be fine) within minutes of our arrival my daughter needed to use her medication as she was finding breathing difficult. Room had 8 feather pillows and beds had feather doonas. Was very disappointed and probably won’t be returning. Waste of money for us.

I booked two rooms for a Saturday night on a booking site as the hotel wasn't able to match the price. We booked for parking and breakfast for both rooms. Parking was easy and we were given access to one of our rooms early. The check in staff were very helpful and friendly and we're happy to help with a late check-out for one of our rooms. Easy walk to the centre of Canberra for shopping and coffee and adjoined to the casino which is convenient. The gym was well appointed and open 24 hours. The breakfast was well stocked and again all the staff super helpful and friendly. Overall good comfy room and nicely appointed hotel (including free tea/coffee and bananas in the foyer on the Sunday morning).

Reasonably priced, good service, nice food. However, bathroom very unacceptable. Old, scratchy towels and traces of mould in the tiles. A hotel of this caliber should ensure a good competent cleaning and laundering service, along with regular check inspections of same.

Comfy place and Green service are the best highlights of the stay! Lots of options for food, exercise and recreation available. Service Desk is very good and available round the clock. About 10 min walk from most of the new offices, which is okay. Lack of options such as microwave oven and a bit dated bathrooms are the only flip sides of this place. Recommended!
