Enjoyed the clean hotel room and the balcony views, comfortable beds, hot showers, working washing machine and drier. Basic kitchen not many implements pan hard to cook in and no spatula, Good size fridge made ice easily. The pool was more of a plunge pool as it was cold and small. Liked the Sauna it was large enough for several people.

We stayed for one night in the family apartment which was a good setup for what we needed and in a good location next to Bradden and right on the main road, next to a light rail stop. The apartment has everything, even a washer and dryer, with an ample sized lounge and kitchen area. The adjoining hotel room was setup with twin beds (the hotel called me ahead of my stay to confirm what we needed) albeit the hotel room was in a more modern state than the apartment which felt a bit dated. The pool, gym & sauna area was a bit strange, accessed via fire stairs in the basement. The pool isn't heated so we didn't use it. The sauna was good and gym had all the basics you'd need for a workout. The team on reception were really friendly throughout our stay. I was impressed with the breakfast buffet in particular the homemade beans and the herb & garlic potatoes were delicious.

Recently stayed at the Mantra for 2 nights and whilst the stay was pleasant and the room was spacious, the cleanliness was NOT! I returned home with itchy skin, went to the doctor who confirmed it was 'bed bugs' picked up from the hotel bed. When I notified the hotel they said they were "...sorry for the experience...". When I questioned daily cleaning they advised that daily cleaning comes at an extra cost. Great location, ok service but cleanliness gets zero stars!

A family visit wonderful Staff and a perfect location too! The rooms were well appointed and spacious too! We enjoyed its quiet ambience from the 8th floor balcony with morning coffee to the best parking in Canberra 500 meters from the Canberra centre.

Mantra on Northbourne, Canberra: A Disastrous Stay - Avoid at All Costs! My recent experience at the Mantra on Northbourne was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment we checked in, it was clear that this hotel was far below acceptable standards. The room was filthy, with a layer of dust coating every surface. The air conditioning filters were caked in grime, which explained why we felt sick every time we were in the room. My asthma flared up constantly, and sleep was nearly impossible. This appalling lack of cleanliness completely ruined our stay and sapped our energy for the activities we had planned. To add insult to injury, the service was equally abysmal. Housekeeping neglected to change our towels and only made the bed once during our three-night stay. When we complained about the dust and the health issues it was causing, the staff's response was indifferent and dismissive. They offered to clean the filters and wipe down the counter with a dry cloth, but didn't even bother to clean the dust-covered drinking glasses! We were promised that the senior manager and general manager would contact us within three days, but surprise, surprise – they never did. The only compensation offered was a free breakfast (which we declined) and a refund of our overpriced parking. Speaking of parking, it was a complete rip-off at $20 per day for guests, while visitors paid only $15. This hotel is an absolute disgrace. The filthy conditions, the indifferent staff, and the deceptive parking charges all contributed to a disastrous stay. I will never stay at a Mantra hotel again, and I strongly urge anyone visiting Canberra to avoid this property like the plague.
