We know that there are plans to renovate Milton Park. Even though the furnishings need updating we still appreciated the 'Old World' feel. Everything was clean and comfortable. Going there in winter was a slight concern, but we needn't have worried as all rooms and areas were comfortably warm with heating and log fires. We were happy with our rooms, being quite satisfactory. The beds were comfortable and the showers hot. There was a lovely outlook through large floor to ceiling windows/door to the fountain courtyard. The bar area and other lounge were very pleasant. They have a wonderful, classy bar. The breakfasts and High Tea we had were excellent. All staff went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful! We had a pleasant 3 nights there.

We love staying here for the cycling event or just a stay over travelling from Canberra. Spacious rooms and friendly staff. In house dining is well regarded with one of the better breakfasts included too. Facilities are good but unfortunately the spa and gym was under renovation last we stayed.

Old, Run Down, in desperate need of repair and a new management team that understands 5 star customer service and trains staff accordingly. Our Stay at Milton Park Upon arrival, you have to drive up an unsealed track (your car will look like you’ve gone an off road adventure when it’s raining) to get to the front door. There is no one to greet you or help with the luggage on arrival. No signs on where to go or how to get to the car park. As you enter the front door, there is no reception or concierge desk to assist you with check-in, only a faint smell of musk and mould covered by the residual sent of recent wood burning. Walking further into the building, there are two small signs (about the size of an A4 piece of paper), one pointing left and says “restaurant” and one towards the right with “reception” on it. Turning right, you have to wonder through a winding corridor to see another sign pointing left for reception. Checking in we found out that you have to drive to the car park and walk your luggage to the hotel from a fair distance away. The car park is mainly unsealed dirt so it turns to mud in the rain and there is nothing undercover to shelter you from the rain as you walk from the car park to the hotel. Our room seemed nice enough, however there was renovations going on right next door that was excessively noisy (sounded like jack hammer and buzz saw). Called reception on a number of occasions, however no one answered. Walking down to reception, there was no one there (mind you, this was just after 3pm, you could understand it if it was 3am, and hopefully there wouldn’t have been any construction noise from next door to worry about at 3am). No sign up, nothing. Wondering around the place (you will notice that much of the common areas are very run down and in dire need of restoration and/or repair – this was definitely not on their website), voices could be heard coming from the restaurant. Asking if anyone of them worked here and could help me resulted in one guy saying I’ll come to reception. Found out that the noise from the renovations next door can’t stopped and that we can’t be moved to another room (what the…). After pressing the issue, he finally found another room for us. In the meantime the original girl who checked us in comes back to the reception desk and says that they were just having a fair well for someone (in a tone that seemed to indicate that I was interrupting proceedings for them). The room that we got moved to was very much the same as the common areas of the hotel, old run down and in dire need of restoration and/or repair. The windows in the bedroom are cracked. There is a window above the air conditioning unit without blinds or curtains, which means no sleeping in. The bathroom is like an ice box (in winter) and isn’t very clean with has mould on the tiles. Carpet was worn and had stains everywhere. Paint was peeling off the ceiling, cobwebs were also on the ceiling and the list goes on. At breakfast, the black coffee comes out with what looks like oil rings floating on it. One of the waitresses offers to get a replacement. Another waitress brings out the replacement with a very angry look on her face and slams the coffee down so hard that it spills everywhere. Doesn’t say anything, just turns around and walks off. Five star hotel? You decided for yourself…

Truly a beautiful place to stay. The accommodation gives you a taste of Europe without the long flight. The restaurant in house is also needs to be mentioned as a taste sensation experience & to accompany all this are gardens, which could also be worth a visit on their own. Worth noting there is a wellness centre that had storm damage so was unusable but my previous visit, we loved it. The town of Bowral also has really lovely shops or if you prefer outdoor activities, there are nearby walking tracks, waterfalls and swimming lagoons. The breakfast coffee they made is another treat to look forward to. If you’re looking for a place to relax in style this is it, we love it!!

The gardens are phenomenal and are the absolute highlight. Our room was really nice, great outlook, comfortable bed and excellent shower. Most facilities were unable to be used - the wellness spa was closed, the tennis courts had a large marquee on it. We weren’t told that these things would not be able to be used when we booked or when we checked in. The welcome letter in the room actually gave instructions for how to book a spa treatment. The breakfast food was nice but the service was terrible. Staff were way too busy and stressed and took it out on the customers. The food kept running out, coffee orders took an eternity and the staff just kept snapping at customers. This place could be amazing - it just needs more staff with a refresher on customer service!
