Our stay at Borrodell Accommodation was a disaster from start to finish. Given the premium price, we expected a high standard of service and comfort, but instead, we encountered poor communication, inadequate provisions, expired food, and even serious water quality concerns. Booking & Communication Issues Despite booking for six people around October 25th, I never received a confirmation until I followed up multiple times. Calls during office hours went unanswered, and my email wasn’t acknowledged until two days later. Upon arrival, we discovered the booking had been incorrectly recorded for only two people, despite my clear request. Accommodation Issues – Uncomfortable & Poorly Maintained • Non-Functioning Fridge: The fridge did not work, making it impossible to store food or drinks properly. Given the remote location, this was extremely inconvenient. • Insufficient Towels & Toiletries: Only four towels were provided for six guests, and toiletries (soap & shampoo) were only stocked for two people, meaning we ran out after two days. Inadequate & Expired Breakfast • Insufficient Supplies: The breakfast provided was only enough for two people, despite the booking being for six. After raising this issue, extra supplies were not delivered until January 1st, long after we had run out. Even then, essential items such as milk, butter, and jam were missing. • Expired Food: The milk provided was past its best-before date, making it unsafe to drink. This is completely unacceptable at any accommodation, let alone one charging premium rates. Serious Water Quality Issue On January 1st, the tap water turned orange, making it unsafe for drinking and even washing. I immediately called the after-hours number to report this issue and left a message, but nobody ever responded. This was not just an inconvenience but a major health concern, and the lack of response from management was completely unacceptable. Lack of Accountability Instead of addressing these failures, Borrodell’s response was to ask for an additional $500 to cover their booking mistake. This is outrageous considering the poor service, lack of essentials, expired food, non-functioning fridge, lack of privacy, and contaminated water. Final Verdict – Avoid at All Costs This was one of the worst accommodation experiences we’ve ever had. For the price we paid, we expected basic hospitality standards, clean and functional amenities, and professional service—but we received none of these. Between the lack of privacy, broken appliances, expired food, and unsafe water, I strongly advise against staying here. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.

I was immediately blown away by the fantastic view of the surrounding landscape from the venue perched atop the hill. Akin, who was on as bar staff was super friendly and made for some fun conversation. The wine was delicious. Definitely recommend, even if you're only going for the view. The drinks are the cherry on top, speaking of which, you can actually get a cherry liquor made from local cherries. Thanks Akin! If I could leave you more than 5 stars, I would 😄 (I hope I spelled your name right 🙈)

We had an amazing experience at the wine tasting here at Borodell. We were attended by Hakeem who was gracious enough to explain us about the wines included in the menu. He was generous with time and was patient to answer all our queries/ questions. We loved the cheese platter along with the wines. The best was their rose and the moscato (not too sweet) A must visit for everyone visiting Orange.

I visited for wine tasting and have to say they’ve got some beautiful wines. We were looked after very well by Akim (thanks!) and really enjoyed learning about the wines !

A gorgeous setting for a getaway. The cottage was superbly situated and so sweet and comfortable.A group of khaki Campbell ducks waddled past this afternoon on the lawn. Hospitality is top notch with extras , Gaye ,Louisa and their staff are there to attend to you. A divine slice of heaven, don't miss it.
