Always a pleasure booking an event at Solotel venues thanks to Brendan and the crew. It is no wonder many flock to the nightlife of the nation's highest earning income postcode, known for its Wednesdays vibes. The Sheaf boasts such a diverse range of seating and bar areas from the communal courtyard, sports bar, dancing hall, and the upstairs Canopy Bar is not to be missed whilst overlooking the courtyard. The bands downstairs were extremely impressive and performed awesome renditions of ABBA and other classics.

I walked into The Sheaf ready to Shwendsday like it was my life’s purpose. You know, that midweek delirium where you pretend you’re just grabbing “a drink” but end up contemplating the dance floor like it’s your destiny? Yeah, that. And then, like an angel descended from the cool-girl heavens, there was Izzy the Bartender. Brown hair, short strands framing her face like she’s the protagonist in a 90s rom-com, glasses giving her that intellectual “I know my way around both a cocktail shaker and a Proust novel” vibe. Seriously, how is anyone supposed to order a drink when they’re busy wondering if they’re witnessing art in human form? I asked for a drink and got a masterpiece. Izzy’s cocktail-making skills? Immaculate. Charisma? Through the roof. She served me with the kind of grace that made me feel like I was the main character—until I remembered I was 3 drinks deep and definitely not. If you’re not hitting up The Sheaf to get a drink from Izzy, are you even living? 10/10 would Shwendsday again.

For the last year I have seen the daily delivery of sonoma bread sitting on the doorstep of the pub every morning. It is left sitting on the street right next to urine and vomit and all sorts of gross things. Whatever you do - do not eat any bread from this place as it is so dirty and unhygienic. They leave the bread delivery sitting every morning out on the pavement. I am not joking that today it was within a metre of urine on the wall.. 🤮. And last Sunday it was right near vomit from the night before.
