Reviews for Kangaroo Valley Golf and Country Retreat

We ate here because of the good reviews which included fantastic cocktails. They had two available cocktails and didn’t have the alcohol to make any other simple cocktail. As for the food, we ordered a antispesto share plate, which had nothing that was on the menu, when we asked they said they changed the menu today so bad luck to us. Plenty of cheeses meats and items from a jar and a few lonely sticks of bread which you can not put cheese on. For mains we ordered lasagna and marinara pasta. The lasagna had absolutely no flavour what so ever, the marinara pasta although it looked fantastic was so salty and overpowering it resembled a bait bucket. The freshness was questionable and I couldn’t eat majority of it because of the rich red sauce I would have needed an apron. For such a beautiful place they really let themselves and us down.

While spending a couple of nights in kangaroo valley for a wedding we came across the restaurant at the golf club . They were fully booked online but thought we would try our luck as a walk in . George happily accommodated for us and found us a table . The food was phenomenal , the service was incredible and the presentation was classy yet cozy . 10/10 experience . Compliments to George, his team and an incredible chef

I have just had a great 2 days at KVGC. I stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with 5 friends. The villa was very well set out, tremendous views out over the course and extremely comfortable. We only played 9 holes but loved the course and keen to play again. Dinner- 6 of the best dishes to the table. Pasta, seafood and beef cheeks. George- the owner and our host was one of the happiest and most attentive, interesting waiters ever. The little township of Kangaroo Valley (including the pub) well worth a visit. Cannot wait to go back.

This review is for the dinner we had. We live local so no need to say over night. The atmosphere is beautiful and dinner was amazing, fresh and true to Italian roots. it's been awhile since I have been impressed with a restaurant but finally have found a new local favourite

Our first visit for dinner, and we wish we hadn’t left it so long! Everything was excellent - well presented, tasty food, good service and a very pleasant room. We will certainly be back. A relief to have this as a quality dining option in the Valley.
