Disappointing Decline in Standards I have stayed at this hotel four times before, and it used to be a five-star experience. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill and is now closer to three stars. What’s Still Good: • The rooms and views remain fantastic. • The facilities, like the pool, are excellent. • The staff were friendly and approachable. What’s Gone Wrong: • Pool Atmosphere: The removal of the serviced pool bar has drastically changed the vibe. While you can order via phone, it’s just not the same as having a lively, well-serviced bar by the pool. • Echoes Restaurant: Service here was well below par. It was slow between courses, staff lacked attentiveness, and basic details like refilling water or clearing plates were overlooked. • Breakfast: Very average. Some fresh juice instead of carton options would elevate the experience. • Check-In Process: Previously, you could check in at Echoes itself, which was convenient. Now, you have to check in at Lilianfels across the road. When my room key didn’t work, I had to make the trek back across because there’s no service available at Echoes to help. Overall, it feels like prices have increased, yet service levels and staffing have been cut. What used to feel like a luxurious escape now feels mediocre and disorganized. Very disappointing, especially given how exceptional the hotel once was. I hope they address these issues because it has so much potential.

Today we had lunch at Echoes Restaurant and the food was amazing! The servers were very attentive and efficient. After our lunch we had a massage at Echoes Day Spa. I have been attended by an amazing woman named Larissa. Not only Larissa was an amazing masseuse but she also made our day by her excellent service and pleasing personality. I highly recommend having a treatment with her using their essential oil SPIRIT.

We had a beautiful corner room at Echos with an amazing view. Loved being able to stroll across to Lilianfels for pools, spa and the lovely lounge bar and dining room. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful, always ready with a smile.

During the execution of my proposal, Sabina continued to demonstrate her professionalism by accommodating my needs and ensuring that everything went smoothly. The beautiful setup she created was perfect, and the timing was impeccable, leaving my fiancée deeply moved. My experience at the hotel was fantastic. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, and the views were breathtaking—exactly as depicted on the website, if not better. The daytime scenery of the Blue Mountains and the starry night sky were absolutely stunning. Additionally, the quality of the breakfast was outstanding; every dish was delicious, and enjoying it with the beautiful Blue Mountains as a backdrop was an unforgettable experience. As a touching gesture, when we were leaving to catch our train, Sabina went out of her way—without any obligation or responsibility—to personally drive us to the station. This extra effort truly warmed our hearts and exemplified the outstanding level of care provided by the hotel. I wholeheartedly recommend Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant for anyone looking for a stunning location and top-notch service. Great service, perfect location and food is good. Would come back just for the room views alone. The gavett room was perfect uninterrupted views of the mountains.
