Beautiful surrounds and great location. I would recommend not booking the buffet breakfast. We were staying three nights and paid (a large amount more) for three buffet breakfasts. We really did not enjoy. The bacon was hardly cooked and there was a lot that was empty or just tasted so bland. I asked reception if I could cancel and get my money back on the next two breakfasts and they said it is non refundable. I brought up my disappointment and it was left at that. After returning home I did send an email as I was left feeling really disappointed by this. I wasn’t asking a refund for the first morning however the two breakfasts we didn’t attend for I don’t believe is fair. I was the emailed by the FOH manager and he said he would get back to me in a couple days. It has now been weeks and no reply to my email checking up with it. I would recommend to not book the buffet at all and if you decide you would like to, just arrive (it was a cheaper option too, I found out later). Great resort, disappointing breakfast and service

I booked Peppers expecting a 5-star accommodation experience, but unfortunately our stay was very disappointing. The resort itself appears very tired and run down. Our room was in particularly poor condition and had a strong musky, mouldy smell, which raised concerns about cleanliness and potential health issues. The bathroom was also outdated and had an unpleasant odour coming from the drains. The shower had visible mould on the screens and grout and did not appear to have been cleaned to an acceptable standard. For a resort that advertises itself as 5-star, there were also several basic amenities missing. There was no bottled water provided in the fridge, the Wi-Fi did not work, and the phone in the room was not functioning, meaning we could not contact reception or room service. Overall, the experience felt far closer to a basic motel than a premium resort. The pool area was also very basic and did not reflect what you would expect from a property charging 5-star prices. It is very misleading for this resort to market itself as 5-star accommodation given the condition of the facilities and level of service provided. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to others.

Our recent stay at Peppers Salt Resort & Spa Kingscliff was overall restful and enjoyable, and we appreciate the effort of the staff in creating a relaxing atmosphere. That said, we would like to offer some constructive feedback in the spirit of helping the resort maintain the high standards guests expect. The resort itself is beginning to feel a little tired in places. In our room, a new air-conditioning unit had been installed, but the surrounding wall had not yet been patched or finished, which detracted from the overall presentation. There was also no television in the bedroom, which we found surprising for a resort of this calibre. In the restaurant, we noticed a recurring service practice where staff stack used plates quite high at the table when clearing. On several occasions cutlery slipped and fell to the floor. While we understand the intention may be efficiency, this approach can feel uncomfortable for guests dining nearby and may be worth reviewing from both a safety and guest-experience perspective. From a hygiene standpoint, we suggest reconsidering shared butter plates and knives, as well as communal condiments. Individual servings could provide greater reassurance and align with contemporary guest expectations around cleanliness. We share these comments respectfully and constructively. Peppers has a strong reputation, and with some attention to these details, the resort could more fully meet the expectations associated with the brand. We did enjoy a restful stay and hope this feedback is helpful in supporting continued improvement.

Was expecting Peppers experience, thinking it would be a nice , luxury escape but underwhelmed ! Check in lady was great but apart from that, most of the staff, especially the front desk staff would not look at you or acknowledge you if you walked past even when the reception was quiet. No friendly smile, no good morning how are you. No customer service skills whatsoever! We got told off at the pool bar saying this is a luxury a hotel when we were 2 mins out of happy hour and asked for the happy hour price. Sitting around main pool, discarded plastic drink cups left lying everywhere as well as food service cardboard containers . Not one of the waitstaff picked up any , repeat anything that was left finished by guests! I couldn’t take it any longer and cleared a space so we could sit down in reasonably clean beach area. No outside cleaning done around pool area as dried spilt tomato sauce was all over parts of seating area , tiling , lounge chairs around pool that was there for our three day stay. No attention to detail and getting tired look about it and needs a bit of maintenance. Parking spots extremely narrow. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable but overall disappointing to what we were expecting from a Peppers resort. Breakfast was the same, reasonably good breakfast but staff busy talking to each other rather than picking up plates from our table. Also , again got told off for touching pancake machine.

Our stay had a few positives but unfortunately a number of issues overshadowed it. The air-conditioning in our room failed one day. Reception did try to help and relocated us, however the second room we were given was already occupied by another couple — understandably very distressing for them and quite uncomfortable for us as well. We were then moved again to a third room. The staff member mentioned this apparently happens often, which was concerning. The bar wasn’t open at all during our stay and the onsite food options were extremely limited. Thankfully the location is good, with some really nice restaurants and a pub within a short walk. For EV drivers, there’s no charging onsite but there are DC fast chargers directly across the road which was actually very convenient. The property itself was clean, but it feels quite tired and in need of maintenance — things like broken tiles and touch-up painting would make a big difference. Overall it had the feeling the place may be winding down as the peak summer holiday period had finished. While staff were polite, the experience wasn’t what we expected and we wouldn’t be rushing back.
