The resort has wonderful activities for the children as well as a great pool area with a small water slide area. It is a very large resort with traditional rims and 2-3 bedroom villas. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa which has all the amenities. Staff was quick to provide extra towels etc. It can be busy during the summer vacation. We did not use the adult pool. I do think that our villa could use a deep cleaning, however it was acceptable and e we’re happy with the facilities.

Staying here Australia Day weekend 2025. Awesome venue for kids. Can not wait to bring my grand children. The splash park is out of this world and my grand children would love it. But unfortunately, children's safety is at risk. Parents leaving there kids unattended in the pool area. Kids running and jumping in spa. When I discussed this with the manager. They said they are following policy. Then policies need to change. Parents can not drop kids off to the pool area, and then leave. Rydges say it's the Parents responsibility. But if they know there are no parents there to watch their children. Then Rydges should, take responsibility of these children and remove them from the pool area as they have no supervision. Apparently a 4 year old drowned last year. Have no issue, with Parents drinking alcohol, but in the pool area.??????. It's a hot weekend, lots of kids having fun in the pool. No life guards, and no one from Rydges maning the pool area. Just 4 people giving out towels at the entry gate. Rydges need staff walking around the pool area. They should be talking with the children, to stop running, not to jump. Rydges u have a responsibility to make sure the children are safe, even when they have irresponsible parents/guardians. Disaster waiting to happen. And yes, I will definitely not be back and would never consider bringing my grand children to a place that is very unsafe for them.

Rydges Resort Hunter Valley is a fantastic getaway destination. Nestled in the heart of wine country, it offers stunning views of vineyards and mountains. The resort boasts excellent amenities, including two swimming pools (an adult only one too), tennis courts, a day spa, and an 18-hole golf course. The rooms are comfortable with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. During my stay, I attended a work function at the resort, and the conference facilities were top-notch and our awards dinner was beautiful. The staff was attentive and ensured that everything ran smoothly. Whether you're looking for a family vacation or a professional event, Rydges would be great. While you are there, make a booking for Muse Restaurant (2km away), it won’t disappoint.

Great for Families, But Some Drawbacks We recently stayed here and found it to be a great hotel for kids. The atmosphere is very family-friendly, and the food was surprisingly not bad (coming from California and London!) However, there are a few things to be aware of: If you're considering staying in a one-bedroom villa, like we did, know that it's not located in the main building. You'll need to walk about five minutes from reception to get there. Unfortunately, cleaning services were not provided, and our villa was infested with bugs, which was disappointing. Another drawback was the dessert truck—the ice cream was a letdown, so I'd suggest skipping it. On a positive note, the staff were young, friendly, and accommodating. This is a wonderful spot for families, but I wouldn’t recommend it for adults traveling without kids. Be sure to do your research on the room type before booking to ensure it suits your needs.

Fantastic hotel for families, the amenities for kids are amazing and my kids didn't leave the huge pool/waterpark. Good sized rooms compensated for the fact that the resort is older. I'll take a big bathroom with separate shower and bath and space to walk around in the room over some chipped paint and sad artwork any day of the week. Especially combined with an outstanding buffet breakfast. We will definitely be back.
