My husband, 3 year old twins and I drove 45 mins from Newcastle and spent a night in a Family villa on the weekend to do all the Easter fun activities and it was absolutely spectacular! There was so much on offer with the train rides, ferris wheel, merry-go-round, jumping castles, games room, movie night, kangaroo tour, waterpark fun, swimming pool, heated spa and sauna. The food and drinks at Lovedale Bar and Grill (Had chicken burger, brisket burger & kids chicken schnitzels), Mexico Lane (Had steak tacos, prawn tacos, chicken tacos, corn cobs, beef quesadillas and margaritas) and Dessert Truck (Had churros and ice cream) were all soooo delicious and tasty! All the staff were super friendly and accommodating at every activity, reception, concierge, pool bar, pool towel hire and food joint. The breakfast buffet was incredible & loved the unique touches of the eggs benedict ready to go, self-service pancakes & juice shots! Highly recommend to any family to stay here over the Easter and Autumn school holidays. You’re in for an absolute treat!

Read my review, view my pics! ROOMS NOT CLEAN, BUG INFESTED VILLA, INTRUDER ALERT!! BUT Good activities for kids, good buffet breakfast and restaurant food. Slightly over priced for the experience but we went there for kids. 1. You have mosquitoes, spiders, cockroaches, millipedes or centipedes. I have pics 2. There was an intruder trying to break into our villa with me and hubby sitting 2 metres from the door. He got thru the screen door, lucky the glass door was locked. Few mins later the same man tried to get in through the fr9nt door. It was so freaky and scary. 3. We called the reception more than 10 times and no answers. In desperation we tried the Concierge, the operator and even Room service. No answers . I was about to dial 000 but then got through to reception who sent down 2 ppl later 4. Felt very unsafe as the only safety you have for those flimsy windows are screws drilled in halfway thru the window frame. 5. The receptionist actually asked me what I wanted done after I just told him someone had tried to get in twice . 6. We found a fat spider about 1 inch in size in the bedroom. We found 2 creepy crawlies, my mum said centipedes in the kids bedroom 7. Very disappointed as Rydges is a big name and we were looking forward to a relaxing, amazing getaway. 8. For the price we paid, our stay was not so great. Please please please look into your housekeeping crew. Someone is cutting corners somewhere. I would go back as my 2 x under 8 year olds loved the pool, the buffet and the kids activities. But the accommodation ie the villa we stayed in Villa 611, definitely needs a thorough clean up. And definitely more security. Especially near the villas whose backyard overlooks your golf course. There isn't much safety there. Maybe more lights or cameras even

The staff at the hotel gave me wrong information. When I called them before I made the booking, they said breakfast will be at a discounted rate if you stay with us. When I got to the hotel, they again saying just need to let them know your room number at the restaurant and you will get a discounted rate. However when I get to the restaurant for breakfast, they said I need to pre book the breakfast one day prior if I want the discounted rate which is totally different to what I have been told. I spoken to the manager on duty who is Nick, he explained to me that I need to pre book the breakfast one day prior in order to get discounted rate in a very bad attitude and there is nothing he can do now. I told him this is not right as your staff gave me wrong information two times and I will make a complaint. He said I can make a complain if I want. My 8 years old son asked me why the manager looks so happy when you tell him you will complain him. Even a 8 years old boy can see he doesn't care about the guests in the hotel and giving us a very bad attitude. Last year, we stayed in this hotel for during Easter break was great! That is why we return this year. However this year, our experience is very bad especially in front of the kids, the manager is giving a very negative manners. They also run out of Franky Frog which is supposed to give to the kids at the reception as per the instruction on the activity book. The reception said they run out of Franky Frog due to school holiday. Don't they expect kids to come to their hotel during school holiday? They are not able to plan ahead?

We stayed with our 3yr old, 2yr old and 4m old just for three nights. It was a lovely time away with the perks being the buffet breakfast (fantastic coffee and egg meals likes eggs Benedict and avocado on toast), the water park, and the lovely green surroundings of the golf course. The kids loved the playful beds in the kids suite. The hotel is in close proximity to lovely restaurants and the hunter valley zoo. The only points of consideration would be: 1. Considering We stayed in the kids suite, it was disappointing there wasn’t a single bit of plastic or unbreakable cups or plates. 2. The kids suite “outside play area” is unsheltered and that rendered it mostly unusable space given the 30degree days. 3. The waterpark is not heated and the kids were freezing. It’s also not clear on their website that there is actually a height minimum for the waterpark. Our 2yr old was just under the 91cm recommended height but he continued on and was ok. 4. It’s obviously very close to the airport so be prepared for the near constant sounds of aircraft’s (although my 2yr old would say this was a pro). Overall, it was fantastic and we will be back in future. I’m sure we have created lasting memories for our toddlers here.

We stayed over the Easter weekend in a villa on the golf course. Very disappointed with the accommodation. The rooms are very dated, tired and in need of a deep clean and renovation; especially the bathroom and kitchenette. The couch in the living room was dirty and hard and uncomfortable and really should be replaced. The musty smell in the room and entry areas needs to be addressed. A simple internal paint and change of the curtains would make a big difference. For the cost of the accommodation it was below what is to expected in my opinion. I would stay elsewhere next time I visit the Hunter. Positives: Great location and exceptional staff that really go above and beyond.
