Reviews for The Hydro Majestic

Several years ago, I had the privilege of attending a work function at the Hydro Majestic Hotel in Medlow Bath, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Even after all this time, the memories of that day are vivid—testament to how special it truly was. The grandeur of the hotel is breathtaking, with its stunning views of the Blue Mountains and timeless charm. The food was absolutely divine, with every dish crafted to perfection, and the hospitality was impeccable. The staff made everyone feel so welcomed and cared for, elevating the entire experience. I often think about how amazing it would be to return, this time as a hotel guest, to soak in the elegance and relive it all over again. The Hydro Majestic isn’t just a destination—it’s an unforgettable experience. I hope to visit again someday!

Lovely experience! We enjoyed our stay a lot at this place with history. May Castro at the reception and all other staff were super friendly and lovely! Thank you! Only a problem is that half used soap/amenities were collected on the second day. Many of us are happy to use them on the second day if they are not empty. Being sustainable is great in that beautiful area! Will be back again!

We had a high tea for two which cost $130. The service was excellent and the Wintergarden room was elegant and peaceful. The views were breathtaking with no low cloud. The high tea itself looked beautiful though the food was hit and miss. One of the sandwiches was dry around the edges, the sausage roll dry and scones were not fresh as they crumbled as soon as you cut into them. The egg sandwich, roast beef wrap and salmon slider were delicious.

It's a real shame how this property has been let down by a lack of maintenance and general care. The location is brilliant, but it was disappointing in a number of ways. Food was average, bathrooms weren't as clean as they should be, outside balconies and other areas needed high pressure hosing. Don't go to play tennis unless you want to twist your ankle, the surface is completely shot. Again, such a pity given the view from the court. If you want to go anywhere, allow at least a 30min wait for a taxi or Uber (if you can get one). This place is a long cry from it's heady early years, which given the history, is such a shame. The best parts are the views and the walking tracks around the property.

We came for a high tea to celebrate our anniversary. I especially am a high tea enthusiast, and I held high hopes. The restaurant itself is stunning. Beautiful large windows with exceptional views of the mountains if the clouds disappear. The service was great, and the tables were beautifully set. We ordered 2 x kids high tea, one standard, and one Eastern high tea. I love traditional high tea, with single finger sandwiches with fillings like egg, chicken and celery, cucumber and cream cheese, etc. All of the sandwiches were 3 layers, which i didn't love, and my vegetarian sandwich was soggy. The kids' high tea had smoked salmon sandwiches included, which i found interesting, The eastern high tea was interesting, but my partner didn't love it. It's hard to keep high tea interesting, I get it. I just really love a traditional high tea. For a family of 4 or was $220, which is a big investment when we left a lot on our plates. The best thing, though, is that we were given takeaway containers so we could enjoy the scones later. Overall, the experience was incredible, but the food was not my most favourite. It's definitely still worth the experience though.
