Reviews for Spicers Guesthouse

Beautiful location and facilities, my partner and I enjoyed our peaceful 2 night stay with a delicious breakfast each morning. Slicers Guesthouse is perfectly surrounded by gorgeous views of the hunter valley, the pool and spa look out to the bush and the ambiance of the birds was pure bliss. Service was great too, staff are knowledgeable and efficient. We were in great need of this relaxing trip and will definitley be returning again in the future to relax and refresh from our busy lives in the city. Perfect for a couple's getaway and a relaxing retreat!

Stayed for a night in August as the original accommodation that we had booked took a corporate booking and booked us in here as a replacement for our final night. Decided to go along and try it out, but on hindsight I should have insisted on the original accommodation honoring our booking. The people at the other place kept talking up Spicers and how much better it was, but upon arrival I could not see how it was defined as luxury. The room was completely sad beige and even the texture of the walls made it feel like a prison cell. The bathroom was very basic and small. There wasn't much to do on property too except go to the restaurant, which was decent with good service.

Super comfy bed, clean and nicely equipped room. Very pleasant check in staff. Nice location to access cellar doors in the region. The eRemo restaurant has quite a fancy evening menu. Oysters, octopus, Wagyu and an array of good wines. Fabulous gardens to sit and drink whilst watching the kangaroos in the fields.

Another perfect Spicer's stay. Having previously stayed at the vineyards, we thought we'd try the guesthouse. The venue is well kept, the rooms comfortable, breakfast has an excellent outlook and we had no problem with the stay. The fact that the venue has easily accessible EV chargers on site for guest use is terrific - they're 4kw but perfectly adequate for an overnight charge, and were in good working order. We'll be back.

The hotel is located very nicely, the veranda is beautiful and you can observe various birds and kangaroos. However,… The rooms are ok, but they he veranda was not tidy, terrible sound isolation, the mattress in the baby cod was a towel which is not ok for a five star hotel! Spiderwebs in the wall… The food we ordered in our room was overpriced. The veggies pizza was good, the antipasto very overpriced and only products out of a jar or tasting like supermarket … for 60$ The property is beautiful and I would wish for a trail around to go for a walk. The reception recommended to walk in the street… that is not how I want to experience nature or a relaxing walk Overall, it needs more love and details
