## A Memorable Escape at The Convent, Hunter Valley My recent stay at The Convent in Hunter Valley was nothing short of enchanting. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of tranquility wash over me, thanks to the stunning surroundings filled with lush vineyards and beautifully manicured gardens. ### A Warm Welcome As I stepped into the property, I was greeted by the friendly staff, who made me feel right at home. Their warm smiles and genuine hospitality set the tone for my entire stay. I loved how they took the time to share stories about the history of the convent, adding a personal touch that made my visit even more special. ### Cozy Accommodations My room was a delightful blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The spacious layout allowed me to truly relax, and I especially enjoyed sipping my morning coffee on the balcony while soaking in the breathtaking views. ### Final Thoughts Overall, my time at The Convent was a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I don’t write public reviews but I felt compelled to do so after a very poor experience at this hotel. Do not book here! We paid over $1200 for 2 nights with breakfast. The room was tired and unclean. Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The bathroom was dirty and worn out. No hot water on the second day so could not shower! We had a superior room which is advertised with a private lounge. There was no lounge and when I called reception about it they said the shared balcony was the private lounge. Breakfast was very limited. If you didn’t like poached eggs or granola you were out of luck. Hotel staff were not trained nor helpful. Overall a very disappointing stay. We are happy to pay the room rate when the room and facilities are good, clean and as advertised but the convent was none of those. Over priced, over rated and under whelming.

Centrally located in Pokolbin is very convenient indeed. It's an absolutely awesome building . Totally inspiring . Great room, furnished out of the late 1800s, very comfortable in most aspects. ( TV could be positioned appropriately. ) I had a superior room on the second floor with a scenic outlook down the tree lined driveway entrance. Beautiful grounds with the great restaurant Circa 1876, 200 metres away. Service was fantastic. However, a high-pitched annoying alarm went off at 9.15 pm, and it took 20 min to turn it off. Not good. Breakfast was yummy, and overall, the experience was very enjoyable. Totally recommended! 👌🍻

Stunning location Beautiful old convent, rooms ready for an update so we will be back once that's happened. Breakfast was included and amazing! Special shout out to Makayla who was here this morning, she's lovely, professional, kind and knowledgeable. Vicki welcomed us with such kindness and grace. Thank you!

Unfortunately it's an over priced bed and breakfast, we couldn't even get a drink at 8pm on a Saturday night there was nobody around it was like everyone had gone home. The rooms are tired, and whilst it's pretty impressive when you walk in, I'm afraid that where it stops. When we are paying for luxury, that what I want it's a shame as it a put a bit of a damper on our 22yr anniversary and birthday weekend, but we still had a good weekend. Circa was superb, the cellar door on site was fantastic.
