I had to travel unexpectedly last minute from a distance and found this place as recommended by other hotels nearby with my circumstances. I'm so grateful that the manager Ethan, understood and made everything possible to accommodate me so late at night as well. He made sure my luggage was safe while on a Busy Saturday night too, trying to make sure as a woman in a unfamiliar place, has somewhere to sleep . Ethan ,and the whole staff the next day, made sure I was looked after and made to feel extremely comfortable , even upgraded me for no extra charge with a room that was available for me for a couple day short notice. I highly recommend and must say that the hotel decor and services were exceptional. It's close to everything, being a fish out of water so to speak , but Ethan and staff went above and beyond to help accommodate me. That's rare in this day and age but I'm sure anyone else will be impressed as I was. Thankyou All

It's cheap accommodation and a place to sleep the rooms are dated and a bit rough. Toilet and shower is external shared with only a sink in the room. Room was a little warm, having window open helped but there's alot of noise with bottles and glass being emptied in bin as well as construction nearby. Bed overall was comfortable enough for a good sleep and check in is available after house. Overall met expectations for what it was

Everything reviewers have shared is accurate - smelly, old, shared facilities, and a cranky lift with very heavy doors. But it is a great central location for tourist activities, supermarkets, and transport. To do as well as you can here : ask for a room on a higher floor (a little less noise and you can leave the window open all the time, but watch out there are office windows opposite). The room is serviced, so get extra towels, milk, tea, coffee, and sugar. BYO cutlery for the breakfast room (save some takeway cutlery) and be prepared to go and buy bread and spreads from the Coles or Woollies within 200m of hotel. I advise not to stay here at all between late November and early March as the building is too smelly, hot, and humid. Best for a one night stay as you are passing through the city. Honesty or accuracy on the website would be appreciated: at least if you know what you are in for, you can prepare.

I had a very disappointing experience at The Grand Hotel, and my booking with this hotel was a big mistake! The hotel was extremely dirty and unhygienic, and I believe it should be inspected by NSW Hospitality. During my stay, my room was not cleaned daily, and my bedsheet was never changed. The floors, walls, and bathroom were filthy, with cockroaches running around in the bathroom. The kitchen was in such an unhygienic condition that I refused to use it. There were no basic utensils like forks, knives, or spoons available. There was no air conditioner in the room—only a small fan in the corner, which was completely inadequate. The room was unbearably hot and uncomfortable, making it difficult to rest or sleep. Additionally, there was no chair or desk, and the walls were cracked and dirty. The pub on the ground floor was extremely crowded and noisy, adding to my discomfort. Given the poor hygiene standards and overall unpleasant experience, I will never book this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone.
