Very friendly staff who would chat with us and give us advice on how to get around the city, nearby to bus stops and train stations. Ferry within walking distance. Can walk to shops within 10 minutes, opera house only a 20 minute walk, the harbour bridge is only a bit longer. Candy bar downstairs, basically a buffet with a large amount of lollies, which was great. The breakfast buffet was amazing, the restaurant catered to allergies and triple checked to make sure things were safe to eat. Room was the best I’ve ever stayed in inside Australia, and I have lived in Australia all of my life. Bathroom was amazing, warm and cold water, amazing view from bedroom window.

This is my first review of a hotel because generally I can’t be bothered writing them. But I feel like I got scammed and don’t want others going through the same thing. I really hated my stay here. First of all, there is no parking included in your booking. You are forced to pay $95 (per night) for concierge parking or find your own elsewhere. I’ve never been screwed by a hotel like this before. The room was very small. Decor is tacky and off-putting. “Cheap Postmodern” is the only way I can describe it. It’s straight out of a trashy British reality tv show. Room feels grimy, dusty and dirty. We felt dirty the entire time we stayed here. They pump perfume into the air near the lobby to hide how the place really smells. The walls must be paper thin because you can clearly hear everything including footsteps and people talking. I’m guessing that means they can also hear you. The air conditioner is loud and rattles. TV has no apps or any entertainment, you have to cast from your phone or laptop. There is an Alexa in the room connected to a decent speaker. Enjoy some nice music along with ads because they were too cheap to get premium. The bathroom sucks. It’s small like the rest of the room along with being too dark. The shower takes 5 minutes just to heat up. The tiles are extremely slippery when wet, again, a sign of cost-cutting. The bathroom is tiny and you couldn’t afford to put in non-slip tiles? The staff seem nice and it’s right by the water. Good restaurants on the wharf. Those are the only good things. I don’t know how this hotel can call itself “5 star”. It’s not the worst place I’ve stayed in because I’ve stayed in a caravan park before. But in terms of accommodation it’s hard to get worse value for money in Sydney.

Plus . It was great being back in Sydney's eastern suburbs and finding myself in Woolloomooloo in this comfortable hotel. The staff were friendly and the services great. Good for the business traveller who is in Sydney for the night. The beautiful restoration of the Wharf was a huge plus! Minus . The air conditioning system was hard to figure out if it was on or off. The room got no airflow and was a little bit stuffy.

Great location and a generously sized room that was flooded with light and had a great view down the wharf. A lovely window seat ran the full width of the room and was the perfect place to sit and read. Comfortable bed and good amenities, with free snacks and mini-bar. The downside was the air-conditioner was nearly useless despite being on the coldest setting, so the room was uncomfortably warm all night. Perhaps the drawback from the fabulous floor to ceiling glass windows that catch all of the afternoon sun. Didn't try the restaurant or bar as there's so many great dining options a stroll away in Potts Point.

After many stays I will not stay again . This is a property that has declined rapidly over the last 5 years . My earlier stays were a delight . This one was a chore. On arrival my room had no power in any power point for about an hour and staff seemed to first disbelieve me and then have no idea how to reset the switch. Overall the staff seem disinterested , over worked and undertrained. The shower and carpet were dirty. The mini bar is no longer free . The reception staff advised me that the hotel research showed that customers would rather pay for a minibar ! When I checked out it took 4 phone calls , two in person requests and finally a reminder of Australian Tax Office requirements to be issued a tax invoice for the accommodation. For the price Sydney can offer much better .
