Reviews for Novotel Darling Harbour

Had a lovely stay at the Novotel, we have stayed here previously and always enjoy ourselves. Rooms are nice, comfortable with good bathroom amenities, mini fridge and safe in the room. A special mention to James who checked us in, his enthusiasm, professionalism and friendliness was outstanding and infectious. He started our break on a high note.

I had a great stay at this hotel. Check-in was quick and efficient, and I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a room with a better view. The room itself was comfortable, and the breakfast offered a good variety of options. The location was excellent—just a short walk to the marina, where there’s plenty to do and a great selection of restaurants. I’d happily recommend this hotel and would definitely consider staying here again on a future visit to Sydney.

From the very beginning at check in, reception staff were very friendly, kind and accommodating. We weren't able to stay the 4th night I'd originally booked online and the staff were understanding of our situation and were able to charge us for only 3 nights stay. The manager of the hotel kindly gave us free parking, on the condition we didn't take our car out during our stay, which was fine as we just walked everywhere. It was a lovely kind gesture and we truly appreciated it. On our last night my son, unfortunately became ill and vomited on his bed. I felt extremely bad about the situation, having made a mess of the bed. This happened after midnight and the staff promptly came to our room with extra sheets. They were so kind and empathetic towards our situation, explaining it does happen and not to feel bad about it. The rooms themselves were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Overall I can not express enough how happy we were with our stay at the Novotel Darling harbour. It was the kind and polite nature of the staff that really set it apart from other hotels I've stayed at before. I'd most definitely stay again and would recommend the hotel to all my friends and family. Thank you so much.

Family of 8 across two rooms. Our luggage was delivered to the wrong room. Later we arrived in our room we noticed a missing bag which was left in the original wrong room it was first delivered. We had a flight to get and the hotel wouldn’t knock on the door to that room as guests had checked into it. 20 mins later, reception found our bag just sitting there in reception as the guests of that room had called reception to let them know they found a bag that wasn’t theirs. Reception told us they don’t know why it is sitting there because that’s not the procedure. It’s supposed to go down to ground level to Concierge. Anyway, it was a big stressful run around. Also, when I arrived earlier that day they had allocated my two rooms on the same level and then the rooms weren’t ready so we got back later that evening and they had changed our rooms and put us on different floors. So to stay on the same level, I had to give up my upgraded room and change rooms again. I asked what time the outdoor veranda closes last orders for Restaurant and what time the bar closes and the reception couldn’t answer any of those questions they sent me to the Restaurant to find out. It would be very helpful if they knew about the facilities that they are working in Also sadly this hotel has lost its view of the river as there are apartments getting built right in front of it. At the time I booked through Accor, it was a very good price and a great location.

Great hotel -Anita at front desk was exceptional - Access to get to reception is the biggest hurdle. Alighting from light rail is a maze of confusion - It wasn’t just us - many people were asking for directions and quite frustrated. Management need to place time to improve this problem. We missed having an indoor heated pool but loved the quality of the breakfast and the staff are outstanding.
