The rooms might not be super modern but for what you pay, I think they are very reasonable. The actual hotel is stunning and so warm and cosy. The hotel held an Easter egg hunt for the children which was really sweet. They put so much effort into it. They had a drinks cart and finger foods for the parents. They also had an ice cream truck for the parents and children and were so generous with the amount of eggs they used for the hunt. It was such a perfect place for an Easter egg hunt. The landscape around the hotel was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The staff were also friendly. Breakfast was tasty, but the staff (in particular Joshua and Jenny) were our highlight. Their genuine warmth made our stay extra special, its people like them that makes my decision to stay here again a definite. Thanks for making my little family getaway extra special :)

We booked an Elms balcony room, the room is not the standard expected of a peppers hotel. It is small, tired, no light, smells so musty. I would almost say it feels not clean, and the bathroom is not of a clean standard. We were told at reception that was the room we booked even though we upgraded. I think it’s a disgrace to be honest. The receptionist was very dismissive when we asked about the room and eventually called to offer a complimentary breakfast, however I don’t feel like this rectified the situation. We upgraded to the balcony room which was almost $500 for the night. The room was nothing like what was specified online. The room was a 3x3 room that was more like a jail cell than a $500 a night hotel room. The images and description of the room showed a light filled room, with wooden floors and French doors that opened onto the balcony. What we got was a tiny old room, greying carpet that smelled musty and old, a bathroom that wasn’t clean and the doors to the balcony were not french doors but a single door that had mold on the corners of the windows. And when we did get home from dinner and wanted to sit on the balcony to get away from the smell of the room, there were no chairs outside our room to actually sit.

We stayed at Peppers for two nights and had a great time. We explored some of the Southern Highlands, but were really happy to stay in as well. The staff looked after us from our arrival, and were attentive, skilled and happy to help. We had some lovely meals at the restaurant and breakfast every day was great to get us going. We found the various facilities around the hotel were great. Next time we’ll have to convince some friends to come along to and get a billiards or croquet competition going.

Good value rooms, compact but clean with comfortable bedding,. A little out of town but free use of 9 hole golf course, nice garden setting, good walks nearby - an indoor pool would make it complete. The original main guest house building has a lot of charm and history, has had extensions but not completely out of character. Great restaurant, set 2 or 3 course dinner menu with good food options. Great service although food delivery was a little slow this night due to a big wedding on, but food was well worth the wait. Bar prices very reasonable.

We stayed at Craigieburn in a 2 night stay in the Southern Highlands. We love the beautiful grounds and the large lounge area with its fireplaces. This stay had a deal that included breakfast. Since it was early in the week and they were not busy they took the sensible move for cooking a hot breakfast to order rather than having a buffet which we preferred. We had dinner at the restaurant both nights and appreciated the good food, wine and friendly staff. The new chef presents his dishes beautifully. All in all the stay was more than we could have expected and contributed to a great couple of days in the Southern Highlands.
