The food is meant to be Asian fusion, but I find the flavors to be too heavy handed. A basic dish like morning glory should be simple to cook, but the amount of white pepper was too much. The curry beef dish was a bit sour, just not quite on point. I tried the The Classic set menu. The portions are generous, enough for two people. The appetizers like the corn fritter and the pork taco were decent. The main dishes were so-so. The dish with the beef and fish had too much fish sauce. The server seemed to be slightly pushy in terms of selling me drinks, asking me probably three times. Also, he definitely pushed me to get the set menu, instead of single dishes. I told him multiple times - no spicy. The dishes were quite spicy still. I returned one of them. The atmosphere is like a loud bar. I guess the exposed walls were intentional, but it’s exactly as they are - old concrete walls. Otherwise, it is a busy and vibrant place. This is a restaurant for Australians. I don’t see too many Asians coming here because the tastes are not authentic by any means. It was ok. The total came out to be $89. For the same amount of money, I would go somewhere else. It was a disappointment.

Chin Chin is a Modern South East Asian inspired restaurant. The flavours were amazing and we enjoyed every dish. However, the drinks/cocktails portions were very limited. Food came out quite quick considering how busy the restaurant was. A bit pricey but worth the splurge, so we’ll definitely come back for special occasions.

Mindblowing flavours! We got the $89 classics set menu. I’m vegetarian and gluten free and my partner eats everything and the team went above and beyond to accommodate for both of us. Every dish was packed full of interesting flavours which I appreciated as sometimes fusion restaurants can be a bit bland, but this menu really wowed us. The cauliflower curry was intensely spicy but still very delicious. We both rolled out of the door at the end of the evening as we were so full. It’s pretty loud inside but you can still easily talk to your table companions and the overall atmosphere is cool. Yes, this restaurant is on the higher end of the price spectrum, but if you’re wanting a fun, delicious experience, it’s worth it.

Fantastic food as always, but disappointing service. The food always seems to arrive all at once, not giving you a breather in between courses. As a result, the dishes go cold while you're trying to catch up and make space on the table. The pacing felt unnecessarily frantic, and on a Sunday afternoon with a half empty restaurant, we couldn't understand why. The service is friendly, nothing overly attentive or noticeably special, but we could have done without the obvious eye-roll when we paid and didn't leave a tip. I work in the service industry, and in a difficult economy where we're personally struggling and often too stretched to dine out, we made an exception for my best friend's birthday. We walked out feeling judged and embarrassed. It was my fifth time dining at Chin Chin and today I left sadly disappointed and in no rush to return.

Dined here solo for dinner on a work trip and so glad I did! The service was top notch, and the food - wow!! The oysters super fresh and the pad seuw very tasty, but the real shining star for me was the massaman curry beef - out of this world delicious!! Oh and the cocktails were incredible too!! Truly 10/10 meal. The music was a touch on the loud side BUT whoever is in charge of the playlist needs a raise, such good vibes!! Can't wait to eat here again!
