I can recommend the salt and pepper squid. That was good. We went out as a family but this was more of a friendly pub hangout atmosphere ( nice and jolly, just not for us). The waitress just seemed more annoyed that we were ordering so we felt a little unwanted there. We did book a table but they didn't have anything organised just told us to sit wherever so not sure if booking is used here

We love to come here during lunch time on weekends, watch races and games , they would project games on a big screen as well. Cocktails are really good , many gluten free options, haven’t had issues with food or service. The only thing I would add, bathrooms need a little maintenance. Will be back :) thanks team!

Had a disappointing experience at Civic Underground over the weekend when my phone was taken. The situation was poorly managed, and staff were unhelpful. I had to speak to four different staff members/security before someone even offered to take my contact details. My partner wasn’t allowed re-entry (despite leaving at his own will) to help search, and despite providing a specific 30-minute timeframe and confirming I stayed in the same area, I was told I couldn’t review CCTV footage. My phone has since not been retuned, and I have had no response from my email to Civic sent over 4 days ago requesting assistance and expressing my concerns with the way the situation was handled. I understand the team is busy, but other venues go above and beyond to assist with lost belongings—this was not the case here. A little more care and effort would have made a huge difference.

We ended up eating here cos it was raining outside. We actually liked it. The Civic is a beautiful Art Deco pub in the heart of the city close to Chinatown. The food is typical pub food and prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a great place to catch up with friends.

Wow - the food is excellent and the gravy is the best ever - the best city pub food and friendly staff I’ve found….I don’t know how they make the gravy but this alone warrants a pop-in ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
