Civic Hotel

This is Sydney’s premier boutique entertainment venue. The venue has a relaxed and sophisticated atmosphere with a strip of red light lining the bar, casting red hues onto a row of spacious white booths. 

The ceiling is illuminated by 26 LED square panels which continuously changes colour and an impressive sound system fills the room.

The Embellish Civic Underground

Nestled on the top floor is the Rooftop. The Rooftop space is a semi-covered space and consists of a private bar, high and low seating, DJ equipment and a large screen and projector. 

With a capacity of 80 people the rooftop is an ideal space for an intimate birthday party or corporate drinks.

We love to come here during lunch time on weekends, watch races and games , they would project games on a big screen as well. Cocktails are really good , many gluten free options, haven’t had issues with food or service. The only thing I would add, bathrooms need a little maintenance.

I can recommend the salt and pepper squid. That was good. We went out as a family but this was more of a friendly pub hangout atmosphere ( nice and jolly, just not for us). The waitress just seemed more annoyed that we were ordering so we felt a little unwanted there. We did book a table but they didn't have anything  organised just told us to sit wherever so not sure if booking is used here

Wow - the food is excellent and the gravy is the best ever - the best city pub food and friendly staff I’ve found….I don’t know how they make the gravy but this alone warrants a pop-in ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We ended up eating here cos it was raining outside. We actually liked it.
The Civic is a beautiful Art Deco pub in the heart of the city close to Chinatown. The food is typical pub food and prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and helpful. It’s a great place to catch up with friends.

Big thanks to Emma, the Chef, the manager for preparing a special pasta meal for our son. Fantastic service and super friendly.
