Love this place and have stayed a few times. Great rooms with ocean view, food and service is 5 star. Secure parking under the building and you can come and go as you wish. Hotel security are also top notch; they did a fantastic job when my child went walkabout in the early hours. So thankful they monitor 24/7. Accor Membership also gave great discounts for food and extras! Highly recommend for families!

Overall there was nothing particularly amiss with our stay. The rooms were good, downstairs facilities were great and the North Bar was amazing in its own right Our only real sticking point came from the logistics around our check in and check out. We’d called twice before in the months leading up to our stay, to inform the hotel we were there to get married on the weekend of our stay and if some of the rooms we had booked could be adjoining (to facilitate bridesmaids getting ready with photography) and if one room could have late check out (for the same reason, prior to leaving for the ceremony). On the phone we were told that they couldn’t guarantee it so far out from the actual booking date, but that our request could definitely be accommodated, so long as we spoke with the front desk when we checked in. I was told notes about our requests would be left on my booking. On check in, we were told the rooms weren’t adjoining (and were happy to live with that). By chance, the rooms we sent the bridesmaids to, happened to be adjoining. In respect to the late check out, we were told it would incur a fee if we stayed to a particular time. Whilst we understood the reason for the fee, we thought the following feedback would be helpful: We were forced to have to make a decision about it at the front desk, when really we weren’t going to say no, or else we’d have to come up with a different place to get ready for the wedding. The ‘on the spotness’ of it could have been eased by mentioning on either of our two phone calls (where we asked about late check out) that a fee could be involved. It would have managed our expectations better, or given us time to arrange an alternate getting ready location. Staying for such a special occasion, nothing special was expected, but having heard word of mouth feedback from other couples who have done the same thing and been very well looked after, our stay was just average by comparison.

Starting off by mentioning the rate here for an ocean view room is about $500 a night. For this rate, we arrived to no allocated parking and had to find beach parking nearby. When we later found parking in the building, it was at an additional rate of $30 a night. Something they don't mention while booking. Set-up in the room, which was well appointed and clean with a decent view. Lunch in the lobby was underwhelming with my burger patty well charred, and my wife's salad consisting of under ripened tomatoes and a couple of what looked like tinned peach slices. We'll see how the next day goes... Update 16MAR24: Today I received a $60 invoice for parking and have been double charged after I initially cleared the fee whilst checking out. Upon calling the customer service, I was bounced around 3 different times and then referred to an external agency and left to contact them myself to sort out this hotel's mess. Unbelievable! Never staying here again and I don't recommend it to anyone

Initial room not cleaned on entry. Given another. Problem using lifts (small sign under elevator controls says to swipe room key first). Not the only one having issues with lifts. Damaged chair in new room. Cockroach crawled over me on last evening there. Little sleep. Receptionist staff great. Other staff would probably tell to lift their game!!

My favourite hotel in Wollongong is Novotel. The choice of which hotel to stay at can make a huge difference on your holiday experience. Novotel has a great location on the beach, great food and beverage, bars and restaurants. Clean, kid friendly. But mostly, one particular warm and friendly staff member: Trisha. I was lucky enough to check in to this hotel with this lovely attendant who understood my need for space, noise and privacy and she kindly changed my room allocation accordingly. That made all the difference. I've stayed at Novotel on several occasions and I'm now that I've found my favourite room, I'll happily book it a year in advance for my family holidays on the south coast.
