It was our 24th wedding anniversary. Had a brilliant overnight stay. Welcome drinks. Cholates and assorted sweets with a bottle of RED and lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary. Good breakfast. Pizza for room service was ok. All Staff were all fantastic. Friendly and helpful.

I had planned to stay here with my husband as an extension of a work trip, but with Brisbane Airport suddenly closing due to the cyclone, he wasn’t able to join me. When I mentioned this at check-in, the staff were kind and understanding, which I really appreciated. I was happy to get a room with a park view, but I was surprised to be placed in an accessible room. While I understand these are important for those who need them, it meant I didn’t have a bath, and the setup wasn’t quite what I was expecting. The hotel itself is nice, and the staff were friendly, but I did notice that some facilities like the lifts and common areas were in need of maintenance. For a five-star hotel, I would have expected a higher standard of upkeep. I also found the in-room dining options quite limited due to my dietary requirements (dairy-free and gluten-free). The only dish I could comfortably order was vegetables, which was disappointing. It would be great to see at least one main, entrée, and side option catering to these needs. On my first night, the emergency evacuation alarm went off, and everyone had to evacuate. While the staff were responsive, it was clear they weren’t sure what had triggered it, which didn’t exactly inspire confidence in their emergency procedures. Overall, while there were some positives, I feel there’s room for improvement, especially when it comes to maintenance, room selection, and dietary options.

Great service and great location. We have stayed here several time before and I am an Accor loyalty member which gives me access to some upgrades (like breakfast at a cheaper rate paid in advance and late checkout. However, this particular location is just starting to show signs of wear & tear and a bit dated on decor - still clean and very good but just starting to slip a little. Overall usual high standard. especially the service * buffet breakfast is awesome, especially at loyalty rates. On this occasion we paid a small fee for an extra extended checkout until 4pm (we checked out at 3pm) which basically gave us an extra day, great idea and well worth the small fee!

Just stayed overnight. Room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Had a nice view of Hyde Park. We ate dinner at the restaurant which was really good (and the cocktails were nice too). Had breakfast at the hotel also which again was very good. Only downside was the situation with the lifts, was a bit slow getting a lift and cramped because of overcrowding due to one life being down. I think the bathrooms are also a bit dated for a 5 star hotel.

Currently staying at this hotel and it is absolutely NOT a five star accommodation or service. It has been a complete let down, considering how much money we spent to stay here. We have had to call guest services 5 times in two days due to shoddy standards - no kettle in the room upon arrival and no bath plug. It took almost an hour for them to be brought to us after requesting. Maid service each day has been completely sub-standard. On the first day, despite us leaving the room at 9.30am, the room cleaning wasn't done until 5pm. We had to come back and leave the room again for her to do it. The second day, upon arrival back in the room, we had no milk or towel replacement, and despite needing to go out since we have tickets for a show, we are currently waiting so far for more than half an hour, and still no sign of the towels. On our first night here, we were looking forward to relaxing in the roof top pool - open until 11pm. Even though it was after 10pm when we went up, there were 3 screaming children dive bombing around it, their uninterested parent completely absorbed in his mobile phone. Children should not be allowed in after a certain time. The hotel is in need of repair in many places. It is run down with lift buttons missing, windows not shutting properly, etc etc. Edit: Yesterday returned to our room to see only bed had been made. All the surfaces were left dirty, dirty cups not changed (see pictures), and no replacement at all of milk and tea. Absolutely disgraceful. Have edited to one star now. Incredibly disappointing experience and I would NOT recommend staying here if you actually want a five star hotel.
