Reviews for Pullman Magenta Shores Resort

We stayed in a standard studio for one night with our bikes hoping to ride around the lake. Unfortunately, the shared path around Lake Tuggerah is not complete and we didn't want to ride on the road. Also, there aren't any other dining options within walking distance from the hotel. The room was clean, with a lovely view of the golf course from the balcony. It was extremely peaceful and relaxing staying at Magenta Shores. Based on recent reviews, I was concerned about the standard of hygiene in the room, but we were pleasantly surprised. Will definitely stay again!

We went here for my mum’s 70th birthday for two nights, booking a lagoon villa for the four of us. The room was quite nice, and the pool was a lovely temperature. The location wasn’t as central as I would have liked, but that’s OK. Food and drink options were tasty, if a little overpriced — but the service was DREADFUL. Super-friendly and polite, yes, but horrifically understaffed and it showed. Drinks, food and bills were really, really slow (and thus food was often cold), and at one point they came to us fifteen minutes after we’d ordered (and paid!) for our food and told us that two of our dishes were sold out! I don’t blame the staff at all — they were doing their best — but unless this was an unusually busy weekend they REALLY need to hire more workers ASAP.

I recently stayed at this place over the weekend and I was really impressed with the beautiful landscaping and how well-maintained everything was. The room itself was great, although I did find the sheets and pillow to be a bit uncomfortable. Despite that, I had a positive experience overall. The staff was friendly and the overall cleanliness of the place was top-notch. I would definitely consider staying here again in the future!

Unfortunately our trip to Magenta was quite underwhelming. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and well equipped but was extremely rundown. The carpet, rugs and couches were very dirty and were completely worn through in places. The curtains were falling off the hooks and there were moth holes in them. We were there for 3 nights and the room was not serviced at all during our stay (no new towels either). The kids did a couple of the daily activities which were good but we were charged $15 each child for 30 mins (pizza making) and an hour (sand art). Given the exorbitant pricing on the accommodation you’d think they could offer this free of charge. We also had some free drink cards through our Accor plus membership, and my wife couldn’t even get a glass of rose (which they sold by the glass)….Saving 50c on a drink at the risk of a sour experience is not good business. The gardens were well maintained and the large central pool is a nice area, albeit packed and did not have enough chairs. On a positive note the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were also very helpful when fixing an overcharge issue…there seemed to be several other guests with similar issues on checkout. I felt sorry for them having to manage so many unhappy people. Only reason for not giving 1 star is the helpful staff. This is definitely not a 5 star resort.

Very run down villa, needs a paint and carpet. Especially given a 5 star hotel, it was not very clean and bathroom hand wash empty. The lounge room could not accomodate us to sit comfortably. Having housed 4-6 people you would like a lounge with 2 - 2 seaters at least! But nope it was a small lounge and our other friends had to sit on the outdoor furniture placed in there as side chairs.
