Reviews for Novotel Newcastle

Nice beach location Review of Novotel Newcastle Beach I visited this location for a few days in October. Sheree was very helpful and friendly. She directed me to locations just a short walk to the beach, cafes and restaurants. Light rail transport two blocks away and bus stops close by. Rooms very big and comfortable with complementary coffee, tea and a mini fridge. Restaurant and gym located inside hotel. On the second day the bubbly-friendly Sheree She signed me up and gave me a lovely drink thanks so much for all the effort it was greatly appreciated she is great for hotel. One reason I will come back to this hotel..

Great location. Rooms uninspired, so bland. Room AC smelt like stale urine. Probably the worst TV/Entertainment system, like a budget hotel. Cleaners need to clean rooms better. Will not be going back. Restaurant staff were excellent though and food was really good. A decent view of Newcastle Harbour.

I recently stayed at Novotel Newcastle Beach, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience! The room itself was decent enough—comfortable bed, nice view, and all the essentials. But the air conditioning must have been set to “slightly disappointing.” I’m pretty sure I woke up in the morning feeling more like a toasted marshmallow than a well-rested traveler. Now, let’s talk parking. If you’re planning to drive, prepare for a financial workout! The parking fees could rival your average sports event ticket. I’m pretty sure I could’ve rented a small island for the amount I paid to park my car for a night. Overall, while the location is great and the room was okay, it doesn’t quite justify the prices they’re charging. If you’re looking for luxury on a budget, maybe try a charming hostel down the road. At Novotel, you get to enjoy the warmth of Newcastle—literally!

We had a lovely two night stay. Indiana who greeted us at check in was helpful and friendly. The first room we had felt really warm and the air conditioning wasn’t working properly, I asked at reception, Maddy came to check, realised there was a problem and immediately offered to move us to another room along with giving us vouchers for 2 free drinks. Parking is secure and reasonably sized. Spots can’t be reserved which is a shame, but there are lots so hopefully not a problem. $30 a day is cheaper than the parking rates we saw on the street so we were happy. The location is great, very easy walk to the beach, cafes and bars.

We’ve stayed here a dozen times or so since it was built. The staff are still nice & friendly but the hotel is trying to save money by reducing the staff numbers. After we’d checked in they couldn’t deliver our bags to our room while we were out at a function - no staff. Consequently when we went to our room house keeping hadn’t turned on the fridge which we needed to use so it was hot inside it. At breakfast the next morning after going to our table I had to take the cutlery off another table to set the table ourselves. At almost $440/night not worth the money. I think we’ll start looking around for another hotel It just feels a bit rundown
