Read on to understand 5/5 rating! This hotel is well located, great for kids with excellent service. There are a couple of things you need to know though, it is a bit dated throughout and you have have to pay a bit extra for a lot of the kids activities (reasonable prices), when it’s busy you need to book the “fancier” restaurants & you also need to check what activities are available in the days you are staying. We stayed over school holidays and there seemed to be heaps of choice. Slides, pony rides, ice skating bush walks, zip lining, face painting and more. I don’t think that the breakfast was fantastic but it was OK, the beds were comfortable but the pillows were not high quality. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful throughout our stay, TBH the great service in checkout moved the rating from a 4 to a 5 (they went back to our rooms to get items we forgot, gave us late checkout without any hassle.) also there is not a shortage of staff like so many hotels. Some decent beers on tap in the bar. The rating of 5/5 is relative to the amount we paid and number of activities the place has to offer.

This resort has always been our family favourite- and we were able to discover something new to do/ see inside the resort during every visit. A special thanks to the staff being in charge of the giant rainbow slide - we were there 5 minutes prior to the closing time; they still allowed us to enjoy it to the full while they might soon have their lunch break. Would have given a 5 star if the front desk reception staff could show a bit more respect.

The staff are amazing here. Visited and found they were busy and a little stressed. However some joking with them lightened the mood and we all had a great night. Visited specifically the 2 Doctors Avery. Great vibes and love the live music selection and sound engineer who clearly knew what he was doing. Well done

This is probably the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in and for the price we paid per night, I would have expected a lot more. The room itself is, adequate. Nothing fancy, basic decor but the bed itself is like lying on a slab of wood it's so hard; I have had more comfortable sleeps on floors. It was not a comfortable or luxurious bed. The hotel is super kid friendly which I think is great; I love kids (none of my own yet, but 17 or so nibblings). What I DO NOT think is great and DON'T love was the lack of soundproofing in our room. I was wearing earplugs and was still woken up multiple times by children screaming down the halls and bashing on doors; you can literally hear everything going on in the hallway. EVERYTHING. What was supposed to be a restful and peaceful long weekend away with my husband turned into a tired, uncomfortable and sleep deprived experience and to have paid hundreds of dollars for the privilege is just so disappointing. This is reflected in the stars given to service and location but even the friendliest staff can't make up for an atrocious, uncomfortable stay. I would not recommend staying at this "resort" if you do not have children.

The Fairmont needs a renovation! The rooms are old with stained carpet. The staff are not happy or helpful. There is a lot for the kids to do however it’s all an additional expense. The buffet breakfast is terrible. This property could be amazing if it was given a makeover.. The location and the views from the property are great. Would not stay again in its current state.
