Reviews for Sage Hotel Wollongong

We had a pleasant stay here. The bed and room feels so clean and modern. Carpet is newisj and no musky smell. The staff and receptionist are very friendly and helpful. The public area is well maintained. The only thing is the reception area could have a bigger bin for rubbish. It seems to be full all the time. Our room is next to the lift and it can get quite noisy in the morning but overall, it’s pretty quiet. Close proximity to the beach so that’s a bonus.

I stayed at the Sage Hotel in Wollongong for two nights and had one of the best check-in experiences I’ve ever had. Thomas at the front desk was incredibly helpful and even offered me an upgrade from my Executive Balcony Room to a Family Suite. While the gesture was appreciated, the extra living space in the suite felt a little tired and narrow, so I didn’t really make use of it. The room itself was pleasant but definitely showing its age — marks on the walls and skirting boards, bathroom stains, and some dirt in the corners. It could use a fresh coat of paint to match the photos on the website, which looked more polished than reality. I dont drink coffee, but the in room coffee machine had also seen better days. That said, the room was still clean overall. The location is fantastic — just a short walk to the beach, coastal paths, restaurants, and shops. Parking was secure and hassle-free. The continental breakfast had a great variety (the banana bread was delicious!), and I loved the free ground-floor water station with both still and sparkling options for refilling bottles. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I’d be happy to return in the future. I’ve only marked it down slightly due to the condition of the room and bathroom.

Quick and easy check-in, just what you need after a late arrival to the hotel. 24- hour reception. Clean, quiet and very tidy. Close by to CBD, and a easy walk to the railway station. Would happily stay again.

Our stay at the Sage Wollongong was lovely! We had a lovely large suite which was perfect for my family and I to get ready for my wedding in. We had all our dresses and luggage, and the hair/make up artist had plenty of room to set up her equipment too! My husband and I returned after the wedding to some fresh fruit and wine which was such a lovely touch. We will definitely be staying qith the Sage Hotel Wollongong again.

We got married here in September and I wish I could give these guys more stars! It was an easy and exciting time from start to finish and our contact Leah was absolutely outstanding. She took care of everything. We chose the Sage because the value for money just couldn’t be competed with, and the quality, service and food wasn’t lacking at all - our guests all commented on how delicious the food was with some saying it was the best wedding food they’ve had. The reception room was freshly painted with new curtains and was the perfect backdrop for our festivities with the ceremony area being clean and exactly as we imagined too. The staff on the day and night were fantastic. All in all I would recommend the sage to anyone who was hosting an event especially a wedding 💒
