Within the botanic Gardens, the location sets a beautiful backdrop to enjoy some delicious food. We had the tasting menu and there was dish after dish of amazingly presented food. We enjoyed almost all dishes. The one with prawns and pork floss was a bit odd. Everything else was tasty and we could not possibly have eaten any more. The service was efficient and friendly. We were celebrating an anniversary and the restaurant made it very special. Awesome. Make sure you have the botanic spritz. It's excellent.

A lovely location, on a very hot day, didn’t meet expectations. We had the full lunch courses with all extras and wine pairing and spent ~$400 for 2. So hot and humid, the air con is non existent on a 36 degree day and only two fans in the whole place. We struggled in the heat - this affected our opinion and experience. Beef was soft and tasty. And the mango pudding to end was delicious. The lemongrass pork came in a tough leaf, though told we could eat it, it was far from edible. The pork was also a little dry. Pairings were poor and not complementary nor timed well, I’d finished before paired dishes arrived . We had to read all the dishes again in menu as no wait staff explained what we were having. The mains pairing was particularly sour and didn’t match in our opinion. Salmon was so fishy we didn’t want to risk it. We both love salmon usually, this was surprising. Our expectations were too high, and like the wine pairing, didn’t match.

Have a post Xmas family gathering at the Botanic House inside the Sydney Botanic Garden today for lunch. Seven of us, taking the $106 tasting menu, many courses which I lost count. It’s a very hot day in Sydney today and I think the restaurant could have managed its air conditioning situation a bit better. It’s comfortable inside but with the front door wide open the whole time and some of the windows also being kept open, they are losing a lot of cold air wastefully . Now back to the food and drinks. There are suggested wines to go with the tasting menu. Looking around, quite a few tourist couples are seemingly enjoying just that but my family members all preferred either a cold beer or a margarita so no one ordered the wine. Take a look at the attached menu and the photos of all the courses. Most of them are very delicious , it’s money well spent. Perhaps if the weather is a bit cooler outside, we would have enjoyed it a lot more . Services are prompt and attentive despite the restaurant quite full at the time with lots of walk ins. Planning to take my lovely wife back for a Sunday brunch in the near future.

Had the Luke Nguyen inspired set menu with matched wines. Most dishes were delicious, the kingfish was a bit of a let down and a tiny portion, but loved all the other dishes. Wine was a bit hit and miss; no need to be frugal when your charging a premium.

Lives up to its reputation! Absolutely fabulous food and service. You must try wine paired shared menu. The presentation of the food and ambience of the restaurant is just too perfect!
