Reviews for Sokyo

Overall disappointing and under average meal at Sokyo. We were planning to go for a while and were able to book last minute yesterday. This comes to show how not busy the place is. The food was average with only one dish that stood out (ravioli) and not so amazing sushi. They also don’t validate the parking which is a bit cheeky. Service was friendly and attentive but also a bit amateur and I did expect more for these prices. We spent over $150 pp and still left hungry, and unimpressed. Plenty of better Japanese restaurants around Sydney.

Had lunch here at the end of Dec. Everything we had was amazing, I was really impressed with the shiitake & eggplant tempura. However, the service was a bit disappointing. The staff seem nice but for this price range I would expect better...our drinks arrived late but there was no communication about it...If we were paying $30pp I'm not bothered at all but we paid $100 pp...

Just as delicious as the last time I was there. It took a little too long for our order to be taken, but after that, the dishes were paced perfectly to the table. Personally would’ve liked to see the Prawn San Choy Bow with the same tempura quality as the whiting. Our table was unfortunately tucked away too far in the corner which wasn’t as nice of an ambience as when you’re closer to the action in the middle or in their downstairs dining room. Website dinner menu was also out of date with the menu available on the night.

Food was okay. However, the biggest issue was the service. I waited for a waiter to take my order for more than 15 minutes, and no one checked if everything was okay. I did enjoy the taste of the M9 wagyu beef, but I had to wait for someone to take my order. The 186 Muan package included dessert, and then I was asked again if I wanted the dessert menu, which was very surprising. The food quality was not up to par, and the service needs improvement. At the end, when checking the bill, the waiter mentioned passing our feedback to the manager, though it's unclear if this was actually done. Overall, this experience only deserves 3 stars, and I'm quite disappointed with the service.

We were amazed by the delicious food that was served to us. Alex had everything under control and made sure that all of our requested dishes were prepared perfectly. The experience was truly delightful. I recommend 100% this restaurant is you want to eat a fresh and delicious fish 🐠 🐟🍣🍤🐠🐟🍣🍣🍱🍱🍱
