I have been staying here for work regularly for about 15 years. The location is unbeatable, and the actual design of the place is very good. However they really seem to be coasting on that location and their reputation, as the cleanliness and maintenance have taken a dive. I will still stay here, partially because it is so familiar it's like a second home. Even with the tired fittings (grime in the bathroom, old shower doors that come off their hinges) I still love it here. The staff are friendly and polite, and the courtyard and pool are great. But it's overpriced now for the standard. It's sad when a hotel lets itself go.

My wife's Chanel perfume was stolen from here. Reception staff stated that there is a new cleaning staff. The hotel investigated the matter as well but couldn't find anything. This is the major reason for giving it low ratings. Rooms - really good rooms. We booked a 2 bed apartment. It was quite spacious and very well equipped. However, as a traveller, you'll need to buy your dish washing liquid, clothes washing powder, toothpaste, brush etc. Bathrooms - during our 3 days stay, our conditioners and shampoos were not once re-filled. And we were given 1/4th bottles to start with. Reception staff - this is a 5 star service. This reception staff was extremely helpful, kind and empathetic to the sick child that was travelling with us. They helped us check-in early and saved the face of this place. Cleaning staff - 0 stars Reception staff - 5 stars Location - 4 stars Room service - 3 stars Rooms - 4 stars

Adina Surry Hills was perfect for my family - location was ideal as we were able to walk to the SCG for the footy, walk to the Art gallery and to lots of cool coffee shops, gelato store, deli etc, as well as being an easy walk for my 4and 6 year olds to the light rail, bus and train into the city and Circular Quay. The pool was a hit with the kids and the staff were great - especially the reception desk lady (wish I caught her name!) working each morning we were there who chatted with the kids, helped with directions, always had a smile and allowed us to leave luggage and use the pool both before check in and after check out. Rooms were very spacious with TVs in each bedroom, great view and really comfy and clean beds. We appreciated having the beds made for us each day and fresh towels delivered! Only downsides were a few kitchen items that would have been good such as peeler and chopping boards, as well as the outdated bathrooms - these need attention as ours had a broken shower head, a toilet that ran, some cracked tiles etc. For the price and the location though, we will definitely be back!

Amazing rooftop terrace which was the room we booked, very happy! Staff were awesome, allowed us to check-in at 8am, pool/spa/gym facilities were great as well! Grocery store/bottle-shop also very accessible.

Location of the hotel is great. Away from the crowded and messy central but you will need to climb the dreaded hill. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 3 people and it was just nice. The only issue I had was housekeeping which was quite bad. Bed was not made when we returned to our rooms and fresh towels were not provided. You will have to specifically request for them.
