Reviews for Sails Port Macquarie

Sails was a good hotel with a great location. The rooms were comfortable. Point to note, the rooms do not have good sound proofing, so you can hear all the outside noise at all hours of the day and night. The bar is well equipped and great service, however it does close early (930pm whilst I was there), sitting outside is very relaxing, great views.

Great hotel. Excellent location, right on Port Macquarie Marina with views of water and boats. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. Facilities include a decently-sized swimming pool, a tennis court, a restaurant and bar. Well-appointed rooms: the LG OLED TVs with all the major streaming services was a great touch. Only negatives are that the bathroom is a bit small and the walls a bit thin - I could hear the guests in the next room.

I stayed up there with my partner in the week before Christmas. The location is amazing, just outside of Port Macquarie but on the river. The facilities are well-maintained and great. The rooms are large and well appointed. I highly recommend getting the river view. Would definitely return in future. Just be aware that this is more a family resort so if you’re looking for a quiet couple getaway, with some quiet couples time beside the pool perhaps reconsider as my partner and I found it hard to get a swim without being swamped by fun seeking little ones. My only bit of advice is to avoid the restaurant there, which is a separate business so I’ve rated separately, as the menu is limited and the food not quite up to the price it is charged at. There are plenty of other cheaper, better places to eat nearby.

Where to begin- we absolutely love everything about sails. The location, facilities, views and rooms are amazing however the stand out for me is the staff, from Kristy who is the most brilliant wedding coordinator we could have wished for to Emma, Mel and Vic restaurant manager we could not fault the team and service. We are already so Excited for our next visit and cannot recommend the resort more highly for future couples for a wedding or a weekend getaway!

We have been travelling down the east coast and was just popping by for a stop off. Best decision we made! Superb staff (loved meeting a fellow Pom called Vick!) Saw dolphins as we walked along the coastal path. A dream come true! A fantastic “real” Australian vibe. Going to be a difficult place to leave. Thank you Sails 😍
