Reviews for Novotel Darling Harbour

Efficient check in with new staff member. Room was comfortable, if a little aged in the bathroom. Would have been nice to have a couple of pillow options. Good black out blind - I actually like the manual winder, makes it less likely to go wrong! The gym only opened at 6am, which is much too late in my opinion. I like to be at the gym at 5am to be able to get on with my day. 24h would be ideal. It did not seem to be too close to many of the rooms, so should be possible to make 24h. It will be a decent location once the work gets finished at Darling Harbour. The room was missing a plug for the sink, and the ironing board had a bent leg. There was no milk in the fridge, not even long life. It would have been good to have decaf coffee (even instant), and peppermint tea in the room, in addition to the usual black tea and coffee. Breakfast was good, not great.

Your typical hotel experience. The room was clean and had all the necessities, and the view was fairly good of the harbour (however currently slightly blocked by construction). The TV in the room also included free casting capability from your phone. The service was very friendly and helpful, however during check-in they definitely needed more employees at the desk as we had to wait a while.

Located at Darling Harbour with stunning view of harbour. Friendly, welcoming and professional staff. Breakfast is awesome with plenty of options to enjoy. Light rail is accessible right at the door step. Just a short walk away from plenty of dining and shopping sites. The only negative is a bit dated washrooms and low pressure of shower. Recommended for stay 👍

Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour offers a decent stay with a prime location, but it has some areas for improvement. The hotel is well-positioned, providing easy access to Darling Harbour attractions and public transport. However, the rooms can feel a bit dated and the service can be inconsistent. Positives: Location: This is the hotel's biggest strength. Being right on Darling Harbour means you're steps away from restaurants, bars, the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, and the iconic Sydney Eye Ferris Wheel. The proximity to public transport (light rail and ferries) makes exploring the rest of Sydney a breeze. Views: Some rooms, especially those on higher floors, offer stunning views of Darling Harbour and the city skyline. Dining Options: The hotel has a couple of on-site restaurants, providing convenient dining options. Negatives: Dated Rooms: While clean, the rooms can feel a bit tired and in need of a refresh. The decor might not be to everyone's taste, and some aspects (like the bathroom) could use an update. Inconsistent Service: Service quality can vary significantly depending on who you're dealing with. We encountered some friendly and helpful staff, but also some who seemed indifferent or unhelpful. Noise: Depending on your room location, you might experience some noise from the surrounding area, including traffic and other guests. Recommendations: Request a higher floor with a view: It significantly enhances the experience. Book directly with the hotel: You might get better rates and potentially receive some perks. Be prepared for potential service inconsistencies. Check room photos carefully before booking to make sure the decor aligns with your preferences. Overall, Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour is a decent option for a city break, especially if you prioritize location and convenience. However, be aware of the potential drawbacks and manage your expectations accordingly.

Comfy bed, nice staff, great location for city/Darling Harbour. Breakfast was great, with wide range of options. When the new building goes up in front, the view will likely be poor, but who knows? On the down side, whilst it does have a pool, it is very tired, quite small and not really that appealing. It was clean enough, jut felt like a very old 'caravan park' feel. Surely a refurbishment of the area (new tiling, plants, nice sun beds etc.) would be a worthwhile investment? Check-in was very slow and I saw lines often during my stay. Basically it's clean and comfortable enough and would have been lovely decades back when it was built, but not a high-end contender today. You are paying for the location, for sure - and I think perhaps it's still a little over-priced, given the pool facilities and the overall absence of ambience and luxury.
